Alaina's POV 🍰

"Mara, you are not gonna believe what Mr. King said to me today."

I say to Amara over the phone. Amara is my one and only best friend, as well as little sister. Me and her are 2 years apart. Which is why me and her are so close to each-other.

She's a senior in high-school while I'm a freshman in college. She's very athletic, being in volleyball an all. She's a little shorter than me, and has curly, now blonde hair. Obviously she dyed it for her birthday, she does it every year.

"What happened? Did he finally ask you for your number?" She responds laughing a bit

"What happened? Did he finally ask you for your number?" She responds laughing a bit. I cringe audibly making her laugh more.

"God no, not in that way anyways. He has to tutor me because I'm failing behind in his class so I do have it, but that's not the worse of it! He told me that my skirt was to short, and that he could dress code me."

"Oh wow..how outrageous! Woe is you for nearly getting dress coded!" Mara teases me as I roll my eyes, even though she couldn't see it.

"It's not that, it's just..I don't know. I was embarrassed. After finding out the guy I met at the bar is my teacher is just..ugh." I say as I flop down on my bed, tired of the day.

"I sorta get what you mean. Maybe it's awkward for him to think about that as well? Which could be why he's harder on you than the other students. Perhaps He's trying to push that whole I'm your teacher persona a bit too much."

I sigh, considering maybe she has a point.

"I don't know Mara, maybe your right. Still doesn't mean he has to be a asshole all the time." I  say as I get up and go down stairs to the fridge, phone still in hand.

"Alright well, definitely let me know how Sunday goes. I need to study for my physics test so I'll catch ya later alright Lainey?" Mara says as I pull some olives from the fridge.

"Yeah no worries, I'm gonna call Reyna and see if she wants to go the mall for a bit."

We say our goodbyes and hang up. I call Reina, one of my really close friends from work and ask her if she wants to hang out.

~ Time skip ~

Me and Reyna are walking through stores and trying on clothes. I've known Reyna for about a year now. I met her my senior year and we ended up going to the same college and working together at a coffee shop.
