I must be dreaming because what was he doing here? He worked at a café in Asheville, what were the odds that he would be here as well? I was utterly confused. Not because he was here actually, but more because the odds of getting accepted, so the fact that we both have been accepted was a little weird to me.
He was standing with a bunch of other guys, talking and chatting with them. They were mostly like him, tall and beautiful. No flaws at all.
It was shocking to see a group of boys so effortlessly beautiful and flawless. I could stand and admire them for hours.
"Are you ready?" The sound of my dad's voice startled me slightly.
"Yes. I would hope I am," I replied with a quiet laugh.
We were headed towards the dorms, because I had to find my room to find my room.
It didn't take long for us to find it, even when it was confusing to find the entrance of the dorms.
"Number 24," Oliver reminded me, as if I had forgotten the number of my new dorm room.
I nudged him in the side and rolled my eyes. "I knew that alright, Oli."
"Oh yeah, of course. I'm only making sure."
Emma snickered behind us, my father was walking ahead of us going down the hallway.
"I think it's here," dad said, pointing at the door with the big number 24.
"Good eye, dad," Oliver said, laughing slightly.
We walked inside the room and the first thing we saw when we walked inside, was a girl laying on one of the beds. She looked up and had a huge grin on her face. She was really pretty, and had long and curly hair. It was dyed a dark purple color, almost black. She had beautiful hazel eyes, the green was more prominent. She had perfect straight teeth, beautiful white. Pretty full and pink lips. She was tan and had the most clean skin. Her eyebrows were painted and done, but they sat so beautiful on her face.
She hopped up. "Welcome! You must be Skylar, nice to meet you! I'm Aubree, but feel free to call me Bree," she said, still having her huge smile on her face and her hand out to greet me.
I laughed a little and took her hand. "Thank you. The greeting is very sweet."
I could hear Oliver snicker behind me, putting his hands on my shoulders, kind of assuring me that it's okay. I don't know why he did that, but he tends to when he feels nervous himself.
"I've saved the best bed for you, I checked them when I came," she laughs.
Both of the beds were twin sized with black bed frames. They were on each side of the room, with closets at the end of it.
"You didn't have to do that, but thank you so much," I say shyly to her, but give her a smile.
"It's okay, they're almost the same."
Her smile was really pretty, actually, just her in herself was so pretty. I'm not supposed to compare myself to others, Carmen has told me not to do that, but I really wish I had her face form. If my teeth and smile looked like that, I would never stop smiling at people. Also her greeting was so sweet and she seemed so friendly. I'm so excited to get to know her. Befriend her if she's interested in that. I don't actually know. She looks like the person who has a lot of friends, maybe goes to those college parties. I'm scared she'll find me boring.
Emma takes me out of my spiral of thoughts by laying a hand on my waist.
"We have to go now, Sky. We're staying at a hotel for the next two days, so if you need anything, we're right here," she says and hugs me.
With that they go out of the room, after we've carried all my stuff into the dorm room.
"They seem so nice, especially your sister," Aubree said behind me, after they closed the door and left us alone.
"They are. I've been lucky with my siblings and father," I whisper. "So what do you do here?"
She tilted her head. "Well, I mostly go to the library, go on café's, look at boys and girls, party sometimes and just walk in the city."
"Ah, I like the library as well. I think I'll just mostly hang out with my best friend, Carmen. She's over at the Branford College dorms."
"That's so cute, I would love to meet her. I'm sure that if she's friends with you, she's very sweet," she says, with a huge grin on her face.
"Let's go out tonight! You can invite Carmen as well," she suddenly says.
"Oh... Sure," I tell her with a smile.
I haven't been out in a long time, not even with Carmen. So I was a bit scared, but I was sure it would be fun.
