Akide looks down at her hands, her emotions his own. Her thoughts raced through his mind. Nothing felt right. Her heart pounded in her throat and a sense of disbelief invaded her every thought. They had caught her? How? 'If they catch me, it's over....not after so much work.... if they catch me' her heart raced as she looked back at the man sitting on her couch. He had this curious look on his face, but behind his eyes was a glint of malice. The predator had cornered his prey and was now closing in.
Deep within her, something took place. Their shared emotions leaked into Akide's heart. He could feel resolve settling in the pit of the girl's stomach. As she looked back at the man before her, she knew what had to be done.
This man could not leave this place alive she had to kill him.He had to die.he would die. Akide watched as she stood up and went upstairs. No, he was her. His legs moved in unison as they clamored up the stairs to the bedroom. He could feel horror burst from her chest like a wave hitting a boat in a storm. She swiped the gun from its mantle piece and charged back down, the stairs, creaking under her weight. The world shattered before her as she aimed.
A loud bang echoed and she hadn't even had time to realize what she'd done. The bullet had already left the barrel and blood splattered on her face.
The man wasn't moving anymore if it was luck or the evil aiding her she'd somehow killed him. Now she dropped to the floor the realization of what she did washing over her. She dropped to her knees, lurching her last meal and worries onto the floor.
