In the Dark Forever
By Delilah Nalysnyk
The night always seems to be lonely
No light reaching the forest floor
And slowly, very slowly, the trees are withering away
If I could see
A falling star
Would the night become less lonely if it had a light?
Could I stop the shadows creeping along the forest floor?
Should I nourish the trees back to life?
The night seems to last forever
No light ever reaches the top of the forest
And slowly, very slowly, life is fading away
If I could see
A falling star
Would the night become day?
Could I see where I'm walking among the maze of plants?
Should I even wish to see a falling star?
If only I could see
I'd see a falling star
If only I could walk
I'd find my way
The forest I once knew is now only dark and cold
I wish I could see
A falling star
