Alex's POV
Been living here for two years and honestly, it's kinda growing on me. Laws being fit for the rich, no jurisdiction, feels lawless enough for me to be free to do what I want compared to my old world that I've come to realised from checking the net.
Although I am being chased by Maelstrom, Scavengers, Tyger Claws, Arasaka and Militech for a bounty on my head, that and also the havoc I wreathed upon the gangs. There were also others but they didn't pose much challenge as these three. Whereas the digital side, I got it all covered, all their tracking will lead them to dead people, and the dead tell no tales, while I'm just chilling in a café looking at all their secret prototypes.
Looks like somethings never change when I'm going to places, whether it's in my old world or this.
But at least I got a new evolution, now I can seamlessly hack into the net and get as much information as I want, though the term for this sort of action called netrunners. But I've improved it to the point where I can hack while doing day to day things, perks of having a hive mind I guess. My digital self also looks like an amalgamation of beings put into one, so my identity is protected by thousands of faces that I've absorbed. That and scaring the fuck out of people who eventually trace me.

(0:03-0:09, for those who don't know, this is one of the fight scene for an anime called Kengan Ashura. By far the more realistic fights I've seen in anime)

Tried it once, and I'm shocked at how much information there was even after assimilating the Maelstrom punks that I met when I first came to Night City. The net also gave some new ideas in developing more abilities at my disposal. And I get to keep all the eddies of the people I killed as their accounts are all linked to me now due to me assimilating them. That and the gigs I've done over the years. Speaking of that,
Let's see how much I racked up........

Suffice, I'd say. I can live comfortably alone if I wanted, if I wasn't chased by all the gangs in this city. I could disguise myself, but I'm too lazy to do that. Moreover, it is fun to live with a thrill keeping you up now and then.
And I'm in need of the drink, looks like I'm going to meet good ol' Rogue again. I thought, walking through the city street discreetly, on the way to the bar called Afterlife.

Rogue's POV
Seen many people come and go from Afterlife. All sorts of places, but none as mysterious as Alex Mercer himself, the Red Demon of Night City, raking up to 970 kills with 100%  win streak, never failing to leave traces of blood wherever he goes and always hunting in the night. Ain't no body left for the other to check, other than their identity chip which he never fail to give me. Makes me wonder how he hides or disposes the bodies.

The sound of the doors opening to a new customer, time to see who it- Oh, well, well, speak of the devil as they say.
"Alex Mercer The Red Demon, welcome to the Afterlife, what could I get ya?"

Alex's POV

"Alex Mercer The Red Demon, welcome to the Afterlife, what could I get ya?" Rogue said, welcoming my presence into her establishment.
"Hey there Rogue, how's the biz doing for ya, any new drinks in?" I replied, curious if any new drinks came along. For the Afterlife, their drinks are made from people who died spectacularly. And seeing there's more than 20 of them, looks like they all went out in a blazing glory.
"None yet, but seeing as how you work, I might need to make a drink of you sooner or later to remember ya." Rogue replied, cleaning the empty cup.
"So, what do you want?"
"A glass of vodquila please, strongest one you have."
"Sure, on the house for my favourite customer."
"You say that to everyone." We both chuckled to that.
While preparing my drink, I chimed in a few questions to her.
"So, any gig from Night City's famous fixer?"
"Sure, there's a few that popped out here and there, any preference?"
"A hit, preferably."
"Could dig a few for ya, while waiting, here."
Rogue passes me my vodka.
"Thanks." I replied with a smile, before a having a sip, savouring the heavy taste of the vodka. With impeccable timing, once I drank finish my drink, Rogue came with the detes of the number of hits circling around.
"Well, here's all the deets on multiple hits. Pick your poison."
Scrolling through all the information, came across a few interesting ones, but today being a lazy day for me, I picked an easier hit and told her.
"Oh that hit, that got taken by a small time gang, just recently too."
"Wanna bet who gets the kill first, also, what's the name of the gang?"
"No name yet, but it's run by Maine, ex-soldier turned edgerunner, the one who took the hit is a little twerp called Rebecca whose under him, easy to spot her carrying guns larger than her body. And sure, I'll give the eds to you with a bonus if you manage to kill the target first."
"Sweet, thanks Rogue."
"Anything for the Red Demon, sounds like I sold my soul to ya." Rogue joked.
"Yeah, yeah, see you later." I replied with a chuckle.
With that I walked out of the bar and find the target I'm looking for. Hopefully the little twerp as Rogue called her haven't killed him yet.

5 mins later....

Rebecca's POV
Finally found the target, that took forever to find, who knew he would be cowering in a place like this. I though as I walked into a BD shop.
Always the weird ones. I sighed as I walked into the BD shop and trying to find the target.
Knowing it might take a while, I propped up my guns and yelled out.
"OK YA GONKBRAINS, WHERE CAN I FIND THOMAS WHITE!!!!!"
The moment I said finish the line, a figure could be seen making a mad dash towards the back door.
"Fooounnddd yyyooouuu~~" I smiled in glee, giving chase to the target with my guns blazing.
For a normal looking guy, he is quite fast to evade bullet shots, must have some implants to be able to run that fast, damn corpos.
"Why *pant* are you guys *pant*  hunting me!!!???!" Thomas exclaimed in pants, opening the back door and escaping my field of view.
"Hey get back here!" Just as I was about to open the door.
"Wait please, don't kill me please, I'll give you whateveryouwantjustpleasedontkilllmeplea-"
*SCHLICK*
And a wet sound of flesh being cut by something sharp was heard, making the blood spray through the small opening from the door.
Not giving a damn on who it was, I burst through the door, guns locked and loaded.
"HEY, WHO STOLE MY KILL!!!"
Pointing at whoever was within my view, but what I see next was something or someone that I've always wanted to see in my life in this hellhole.

Narrator's POV
Rebecca could be seen frozen in place, looking at where the target once was, nothing but bits and pieces of flesh left, however, small strands of red tentacles could be seen darting over the bits and pieces of flesh, absorbing whatever was left.
And standing in the shadows, was a figure whose eyes as red as blood, and both arms resembling that of a demon's claws pulsating red and black, with the red tentacles flowing back to the figure.

"Well, looks like I won the bet, kid." The figure spoke to her, the claws that was once his arm, slowly absorb back to normal human arms.
"Still, I've dug around deets of your crew, and all I've gotta say, Ain't you guys a peculiar group."
