We walk in comfortable silence on an autumn night. The leaves crush under our feet, a nice crunch sound coming from them. "Do you ever wonder what would happen if we never met?" Spencer asked out of the blue. "I can't imagine my life without you! Why do you ask? Can you picture yourself with someone else?" I answer his question and look at him curiously. Has he pictured himself with other people while with me? "No of course not! I was just curious." He smiles and picks up his walking pace. "Weirdo." I match his speed and we go back to the silence we were in a few minutes ago. "I'm just making small talk, don't look too deep into the questions. Have you ever liked someone while we are together?" He asks yet another weird question. "Spence, I only love you and you know that. You gotta stop worrying so much!" I share my concern with him. He just shrugs it off. "How's your book coming along? Anything interesting happen in it?" Finally a normal question! "Oo! My character is torn between his friend with benefits and his new love interest. He wants to pick the new love interest, but he is too nice to do that to his friend!" I start talking about my book and the plot even though Spence has heard it millions of times before. He still makes it feel like he's just hearing it though, that's something I love about him. "Interesting. If you had three wishes what would you wish for?" I've honestly always waited for someone to ask me this. "I got this off of an app but I'd wish for notebooks and pencils right? If then wish for whatever I draw to be real and if draw a bunch of genies!" I happily respond to his question. "That's two wishes, what about the third?" He questions. I think for a moment, unsure what I want at the time. "Oh! I'd wish for us to always be together!" I smile at him. "Cheesy. I'd just wish for money and wishes. I never said there were any rules to the genie!" He finds a way to bend the question to work in his favour, like usual. "That's not how it works you know! All genies have the same rules!" I jokingly argue his logic. "I never said that he was a normal genie. Gotta think smart!" He laughs and throws his arm around my shoulder as we approach our apartment building. "I'm glad I chose to be with you. You're fun to annoy." He continues his laughing as he unlocks the front door. I both love and hate how he can easily find ways to bend or even break rules sometimes.
