Something seemed weird about (Y/N) when they hung out earlier that day, their face was red which made Kel think they had a fever. His heart was pounding against his chest for the 4th time and it confused him since it's been happening for a few days now. His face was tinted a light pink, realizing that he had a crush on them.

Kel seemed conflicted. He decided that he would go to his older brother Hero for help. He spotted his brother in the kitchen and called out to him, "Hey Hero? I need you for something!" Hero turned to face Kel, his gaze locked onto him. "Yeah? What is it?" He said calmly, he stood in front of Kel, waiting for him to start explaining.

"So here's the thing. I really really like (N/N) and I don't know what to do. They're really smart, talented, sweet, caring, and extremely pretty/handsome. I don't know how to tell them and I really need your help." Hero nodded and sat beside him, giving him a pat on the shoulder.

"So you're in love with them, eh?" Hero chuckled and grinned. Kel blushed at the mention of them, his face turning cherry red as he playfully shoved him. "Hero! Come on!" He tried to hide his smile but failed. "I'm just messing with you. Seriously, I think you should tell them, I'm sure they like you too. Just bring her to a nice place or maybe the treehouse and explain it to them. You know how much they love being in the treehouse. Or just go over to their house, I don't think it matters too much where you go."

"Yeah, you're right." Though, his smile turned into a frown. "But what if I mess up or they don't actually like me? I don't think I have enough courage to tell them." He looked down and sighed. Hero looked into Kel's eyes, clearly seeing the distress on his younger brother's face. "Hey man, don't think that way. You'll do great. You really know how to put it into words much more than I do. All that matters is that you two trust other and you're very close. Even if they reject you, don't let it get to you. Don't worry about ruining your friendship, you two have a really tight bond and I doubt it's going to break because of a little confession."

Kel looked at Hero, returning his soft gaze. "Thank you Hero, I really appreciate the advice." He slightly smiled as he thanked his older brother. "Anytime! You've got this, I believe in you. You're going to do great. Go get em Kel!" As if on cue, Kel stood up confidently and rushed to the door. "Thanks again Hero! You're the best!" He yelled out. "It's not a problem! You can do this!" Hero called out.

Kel shut the door behind him and began to head over to (Y/N)'s house. A million thoughts rushed through his head as he felt slightly nervous. "You got this Kel, remember what Hero told you." He took a deep breathe and walked up to their front door. He knocked, waiting patiently for someone to open the door. Eventually, the door opened to reveal a tall woman. That's right, it was (Y/N)'s mother, (M/N).

Kel's eyes met with (M/N)'s (E/C) eyes. She smiled brightly as she saw the tall boy. "Kel! How great to see you again! Please do come in." She stepped out of the way for Kel to walk in. "Hey Mrs (L/N)! Where's (N/N)?" Kel smiled back at her. "Again, you may call me (M/N). They're upstairs in their room." (M/N) closed the door and made her way back to the living room. Kel quietly thanked her and began to walk up the steps.

Kel waltzed into (Y/N)'s room to see them at their computer, distracted by whatever they're doing. "Hey (N/N)! I wanted to talk to you about something." (Y/N) slightly jumped, whipping their head around to look at the brunette, seemingly startled. "Kel! You scared me, what's up? What brings you to see me again?" They turned their body away from their computer to look at Kel properly. They stood up with Kel standing a few inches away from them.

"This is kinda hard to say... We've been best friends for a while and I realized something." He paused, glancing at (Y/N), they were returning his gaze with a look of curiosity on their face. They urged him to go on. "(Y/N), I know this is sudden but I've been thinking about it for a few days and I really think that I have a crush on you. It's okay if you don't like me back, just say the word and I'll understand."

Your face contorted into a look of shock. For 3 reasons. 1, you've never seen look Kel so serious, he was always goofy and joked around a lot. 2, he liked you back in which you didn't expect. 3, he always calls you (N/N) so him calling you by your first name took you by surprise. Either way, you smiled and blushed a little. "I like you too Kel. I always have. I'm glad you decided to tell me." Kel's eyes lit up as you said that.

He crashed into you, hugging you tightly. You laughed a little and hugged him back. Kel looked down at your lips for a split second before looking back into your eyes, as if he was asking for permission to kiss you. You happily pressed your lips against his in compliance. He kissed back, it was short and sweet. He was happy to have you as not only a best friend, but now a lover.
