"I know, it's really shit when you find out from me..." Alex said on the line, his tone sympathetic. "I'm really sorry it had to be this way."
"It's fine." You replied, as you zipped up your bag. "Thank you though, it must be really difficult for you to say it."
"I felt that you deserved to know." He explained, before pausing. "If I were you, I would give him hell."
The tears have dried up, and now you were sitting listlessly in the living room, as the clocking ticking echoed into your head. It has been three hours and 23 minutes and 45 seconds since Alex last called.
You closed your eyes, trying to calm down. It took you by shock, when Jack's best friend explained to you in detail the reason he was going home late.
"He's seeing someone, y/n."
At first, it seemed almost like a lie, that Alex would laugh and say it was a mere prank and that Jack was hiding in the closet with a ring, but no. And that was what hurt the most, your main rock betrayed you, someone who you put your entire trust on, just simply ruined it.
"Are you sure it's Jack, I mean many people have his kind of hairst-"
"Trust me, y/n, I'm his best friend, I could literally regconise his dick from a line up." The brunette joked before realising that it was too inappropriate.
But why? He did seem happy being with you, showering you with kisses when you wake up in the morning, always makes it a point to hug you at one point of the day, even if he's overseas on tour, virtual hugs do help. Your boyfriend never seemed to ever stop talking about you on his social media, gushing about how a great girlfriend you are.
But here you were with photos of him lip locked with the blonde girl at the party, hand holding backstage after their shows.
News flash, Jack simply wasn't interested in you anymore, and knowing that felt like someone just stabbed you multiple times, and this masked killer was Jack himself.
You heard the front door creaking, and you simply stared straight, knowing the catastrophe to come.
"You're seeing somebody else, aren't you." You said, your eyes watching him as he poured his wine into a glass.
It didn't take much confirmation to see him jolt slightly, as the wine sloshed out of the glass. Nor was the shaky hand as he brought the rim of the glass to his lips,
"No, obviously not." He mumbled as he gulped down his drink.
"Jack." You voice went higher, almost warning him the consequence of lying. "Tell the truth."
"Is this a fan rumour?" Jack said jokingly, giving a forced laugh. "You shouldn't read too much-"
"I don't think it is a rumour when your best friend was the one who informed me of it." You stood up, walking over to the skunk haired man. "And I saw it myself."
"Babe, you know you can't believe anything..." Jack trailed off, his body growing more and more tense as you stepped closer to him.
You pulled out a drawer of glasses, before taking one out and smashing one onto the floor.
"You see that?" You asked, pointing to the shattered pieces of the glass. "That was how my heart felt when I knew about it, maybe threefold of it."
Grabbing three more glasses, you smash them all simultaneously onto the floor, shattering everywhere around your feet.
"You ruined out trust, Jack, how could you do this?" You said, grasping onto a ceramic plate before throwing it at him.
"And the fact," You sobbed, before taking yet another ceramic plate and throwing at a guilty Jack. "I found out from someone else is just fucking shit, you know that?"
