Didn't always believe in the words of Proverbs. In fact, she'd had no real clue as to what the
words, 'ignorance is bliss' could mean until just now.
"OH, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Yachi exclaimed, her usually shy but positive mood being completely ruined by the sight in front of her, "There's no way! Excuse me ma'am, do you know what's going on?" The woman gave her a small knowing look before responding,"The cafe closed down, sweetheart. There just wasn't enough business to keep the place afloat." And with that Yachi gave a sad nod and bid the elderly woman adieu, looking down, her face being buried in her scarf and her hands diving into her pockets to keep warm in the chilly autumnal weather. Giving a deflated sigh, Yachi continued on her walk to get to campus, without the beautiful brown hued liquid she drank to get through her days. Coffee had become something she was dependent on. And sadly, today she'd have to go without it. Her utter dismay and disappointed aura followed her like a shadow throughout the day. Every one who personally knew Yachi, or people who's friends knew her, all had known how much she adored a good cup of coffee. Regardless of temperature, or how it was made. She adored the drink. And her favourite spot to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee was at that one small building near one of the many shrines around the Tokyo area. Now, it was closed. Her lucky coffee spot was closed. And she couldn't be more depressed... Well, she could be if she wasn't so damn tired.
-----------------------------------------------------------
𝗬𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶'𝘀 𝗣.𝗢.𝗩"Hey, Yachi-san! How're yo- Oh, dear are you okay? You look tired." Yamaguchi said, looking at me with his concerned eyes,"I've never felt more tired in my entire lifetime, Yama-san." He gave a small chuckle whilst he scratched the back of His head, he sat at the cafeteria table I was occupying setting a small recyclable tray of coffee down on the table, as he did so my head rose a bit from my crossed arms. "Is that for me?" I said, staring intently at the tray, smelling the almost other worldly smell radiating from the cups, as I did so Yamaguchi gave a small smile with a giggle to match, "Of course, Yachi. You've gone all day walking around like a zombie, the least I could've done was buy you a pick-me-up. After all, that's what a good friend does!" I stared into his eyes tiredly as he handed the cup of rich brown goodness to me, "You're a miracle worker, you know that Yamaguchi?" He smiled as I took a sip from the cup,"Of course, but before we get into that, how was your day? Talk to me." He made eye contact giving a smile as he did so, "Well, my favourite coffee joint got shut down, so you can only imagine the pain I'm in." Yamaguchi gives a small hiss at my words, "Yikes, that sucks. Do you have a back up coffee shop?" He asked that as if everyone has a back burner coffee shop. I look at him as if it was obvious what the answer was, "No, I don't have a back burner shop I visit. It was only that shop, and now I have no idea where to go for my coffee!" Yamaguchi looked at me as if he had the answer to my dilemma but before he could speak, Hinata, Kageyama, and Tsukishima walked over to the table, "Hello guys! Yachi was just telling me about how her favourite coffee shop closed and now she doesn't know where to get her coffee." Tsukishima sat down next to Yamaguchi as Hinata sat down next to Kageyama to the left of me. "That sounds like it sucks, Yachi! There's this place that I go to on Mondays and Thursdays, I think you might like it! It's called Moonlight Cafe or something, you should come with me and Kageyama!" Hinata said, brightening my day with his antics, "Okay I'll be sure to try it out later!" I gave him a smile that he returned and for the rest of lunch we all talked about upcoming tests, students, teachers and basically anything we deemed to be worthy of conversation until we all left for our next class, lecture, or seminar.
-----------------------------------------------------------𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐁𝐘 like a breeze for Yachi. Of course they did, she was almost always one step ahead. She always had the notes, and she studied frequently and now she was on her way to that coffee shop Hinata mentioned and as she walked in she noticed it was really crowded. Not her type of place to be. As she noticed where the line started, she began puffing out her cheeks, giving a small pout as she opted to walk out and try again the next day, only the next day came and the same thing happened. However, Yachi was a determined, and head strong girl now; not as shy as she was in highschool. And by all the powers of the universe she would not stop until she finally got a cup of this cafe's coffee! And as soon as she was about to call it quits she finally got a cup! She enjoyed it thoroughly, though this coffee joint wasn't the place for her. She needed her coffee quickly, with efficiency and not too long of a wait. However, she'd recommend this place to someone who has an insane amount of free time on their hands.
"So, did you like it, Yachi?" Hinata said with a smile as he sat in a Language Arts class with Yachi to the right of him staring ahead, "Eh? Oh! It was a lovely choice but the lines are ridiculously long. I had to wait 45 minutes to get my hands on a Carmel Macchiato. I'd rate the place 8.5 on aesthetic and coffee taste alone, but it's overrated, obviously by the amount of consumers so 5 1/2." Hinata nodded and wrote down what the professor had said, and maybe copied a few notes from Yachi and just like that the next class of the day came quick for Yachi, this time Hinata wasn't in this class but Tsukishima was, Yachi gave a smile and a wave and Tsukishima acknowledged it offering her a seat beside him, "Hi, Tsukki. How are you?" He glanced at her before replying plainly, "I'm well. Did you try that Coffee shop Hinata was rambling on about?" Yachi gave a little chuckle before responding, "Yes, I did." Tsukishima replied once more, "And?" He said, waiting for her response, "The line was too long. The coffee was good, but the line ruined the experience." He chuckled a little bit before he responded, "Maybe you should try going to the coffee shop I normally visit with me. I'm sure you might at least enjoy the setting." She smiled at him before nodding im agreement,"I'd love to go!" He looked at her before grabbing a pen and writing the address to the Coffee shop down on a sticky note as the Professor walked into officially starting his lecture for the day, "See you there later, then." Tsukishima handed her the sticky note and the both of them began taking notes from the lecture.
-----------------------------------------------------------
𝗬𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶'𝘀 𝗣.𝗢.𝗩I'd finished writing the rest of my lecture notes as I gathered my folders and laptop and started to walk out of the row I'd sat in with Tsukishima in the the lecture hall. Tsukki had already left, saying plainly and simply, 'I'll go ahead, I'll meet you at the shop.' before taking his leave. I'd finally put all of my materials into my messenger bag and walked down the row past a few of my colleagues and into the halls of the school I'd started at this spring. Everything still felt new regardless of me attending college for the last handful of months. I wasn't exactly a new face but it still felt strange not being a high schooler anymore. No longer living on the mountainous country side. Now attending college in the big city! Mom would be proud. Snapping myself out of my thoughts and back into my senses I start walking out of the building, onto the campus and then to the address Tsukki left on the sticky note, using gps to find it. Once I'd found it I noticed it was quite close to the Museum Tsukki worked at. I smiled a little and walked in before sneezing, then sneezing again, and again until, "Oh, Yachi. You're here. I hope the walk wasn't too gruesome. Are you okay?" Tsukishima said sounding a little concerned, "Just allergies I suppose. *ACHOO* *sniff* w-what kinda cafe *ACHOO* *sniff* is this anyway?" I said, wiping my nose with my handkerchief as my eyes started to water, "A cat cafe. Why?" I looked at him before laughing a little bit, "I don't know what's funny about cat cafe's Yachi." I wiped the tears in my eyes a little letting my laughter die down, "There's nothing funny about them it's just that we've been friends since highschool and you still don't remember that I am allergic to cat dander!" Tsukishima got red from embarrassment and he gave a quiet apology and walked with me out of the cafe, "It's fine Tsukki, don't worry about it really!" Tsukki nodded and looked away, embarrassed still. We walked back to campus but not before grabbing a snack from a local convenience store. We ate our small snacks before we went our separate ways. Tsukishima apologized one last time before he left, "Don't worry about it Tsukki! It wasn't intentional!" He gave a nod as he gave a small wave goodbye still embarrassed about what had happened causing me to giggle a little bit at his antics. "Classic Tsukki. Forever a Tsundere." I'd made my way to my very last class of the day I'd taken my seat as this class wasn't particularly my favourite, it was a bit boring but alas it would help me with my career so of course I took it. And as the Professor walked in to start the class lo and behold Kageyama burst in giving a quick and awkward apology to the professor whilst looking disheviled which the professor took no mind to as she told him politely to take his seat so that the class may go on and Kageyama sat down right next to me as the Professor told us to work on our video essays that were due in the next month. "Hi, Yachi." Kageyama said, panting from all the running he must have been doing, "Hey, you okay? You look like you just out ran a madman with a chainsaw." He chuckled dryly, "I feel like It too." I nodded handing him a bottle of water I hadn't drank yet, he bowed his head to me in gratitude and drank the water as he took one more slow breath. "Do you have any plans later, Yachi?" He said as he started typing up his thesis for his video essay, "Not exactly, why do you ask?"
"I was going to ask if you'd like to go to this new Cafe with me tomorrow but I've just now remembered that you're allergic to cats..and you probably have a lot of work to do so nevermind."
"Ah, well okay. I'm guessing I'm going to see you later?"
"Not really, you see me and Hinata-,"
"No need. I already know."
"Well, okay. Then I guess we'll see eachother tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow is Saturday. I don't have classes tomorrow, Kageyama."
"Oh shit, sorry, uhh..Sunday then?"
"Yeah. Of course!"
And just like that classes were over and I could enjoy some good old alone time. Making my way out of the class room, I walked into the halls and walked off campus all the way back to my apartment. Grabbing my keys from my coat pocket I put the key in and unlocked it, walking into the small apartment. I'd removed my shoes as well as my coat, Scarf, hat and gloves and grabbed a bag of popcorn and a bowl setting the bowl aside as I tossed the popcorn in the microwave. Listening to the popping noise as the microwave finally went off I opened the door pulling the hot bag out, opening it, and pouring the contents into the baby blue bowl next to the microwave. After doing so I throw the empty bag away, having no use for it. I left my kitchen walking into the living area and plopping onto the couch and find a good movie to watch on HBO Max. After deciding on a movie I watched and ate the popcorn slowly dosing off after the long day had finally come to and end.
