Officer down

Rose pov.
Dom took the day off so that we can go look at baby stuff. I'm about 12 weeks along now and he is super excited. We get to the mall and he takes my hand and we start walking around. We stop at a baby store and we walk in. We are just browsing when dom picks up a pink onesie that says daddy's princess. I laugh and shake my head " and how do you know it's gonna be a girl. What is we have a boy" I ask? "Oh, it's gonna be a girl. I just know it and she's gonna be a daddy's girls." He tells me and walks back to me. "Man I don't think I realized just how much stuff a baby actually needs," he says. "Yeah they require a lot of work," I tell him. "So have you given any thought to moving into my place or me moving in with you? I just think at mine the baby wouldn't wake Jim and Chris" I tell him " oh yeah. On our next off weekend the team is gonna help me move to yours it makes more sense plus I have less stuff to move" he says. I smack his arm as we walk out of the store and continue on our way.

We have been here about an hour when a man in a dark hoodie runs by and bumps into me. "Hey, man watch it," dom says and wraps his arm around my waist. "I'm fine dom it's fine," I say. The man who bumped into me pulls a gun out and fires 2 shots into a crowd of people. Dom moves me behind him and draws his gun. "LAPD swat drop the weapon," he says. The man turns to him and fires. So does dom. The gunman drops to the ground. Dom rushes over to move the gun away from him. "Dom," I say. As i see the blood. He looks down and realizes that he has been shot in the stomach. He sits back on the ground and pulls his phone out of his pocket. "Call the team," he says. I pull my jacket off and press on the wound. He's bleeding a lot and bleeding quickly.

I call deecan and put it on speaker and set it on the ground next to me. A man walks up. "What can I do to help" he ask. "Take your belt off and tie it as tight as you can on his arm to stop the bleeding" I tell him. He get to work stopping the gunmans bleeding. I turn to another lady. "You in purple call 911 and tell them the shooter is down and we need an ambulance quickly that we have an officer down" I tell her and she nods. "Rose what's going on" I hear see and voice from the phone. "Deecan. We're at the mall and a man shot into a crowd of people. Dom stopped him but her got shot in the abdomen. He bleeding bad. Deecan I need an ambulance now" I tell him. "Ok we're almost there where are you" he ask. "Near the food court by the jewelry store" I tell him. "Ok hold on we're gonna be there soon" he says. I turn my attention back to dom. "Hey it's ok the teams on there way." I tell him "good." He says with a cough. "You know I love you Rosie" he says and his eyes flutter shut for a min and then open back up.

"No you stay awake dom you stay with me" I tell him. "Always" he says and closes his eyes. "Dom dom" I yell. "Rose what the matter" deecan ask. "Dec how long he stopped breathing." I ask as I start cpr. "We're still 3 mins out rose" he tells me. "We'll drive faster dame it" I tell him. "I need an aed there should be one in the food court" I tell the man that was helping me. "Dec I need y'all here now they aren't letting ems in until it's cleared" I tell him. "Were pulling up now" he says. I hook the aed up to him and we move back so it can shock him. Once the shock is delivered i start compressions. I keep going until the team makes it to me with the paramedics. They take over and hook him up to a machine to do CPR. They load him on the stretcher and start to move out. I get up to follow him.

"Whoa hold up rose your bleeding. We need to get you checked out" hondo says. "I'm fine" I say and push past them. They follow me. "You could be shot and with the adrenaline not know it" hondo says and again tries to get me to stop. I turn to the team with tears in my eyes. "It not a gun shit wound. I'm having a miscarriage" I tell then and turn to run after dom. I make it before they leave and climb up into the ambulance to go to the hospital with him. Once I get there they rush him back for surgery and a nurse leads me to a room to do an examination. "I think I lost the baby" I say. "Ok well let's get theses clothes off and we will take a listen." She tells me and hands me a gown. I nod my head and do what she ask. She does and ultrasound looking for a heart beat and can't find one. "I'm sorry. I have to call the obgyn to confirm it but I'm afraid I can't find the heartbeat" she says. After the doctor comes in and confirms what I know they give me some medicine to help pass the rest of the pregnancy and some pads to wear. She offers me some scrubs and I go back to the waiting room waiting for them to come tell me dom is gonna be ok.  I just lost our baby I can't lose him too. I look up when I hear foot steps. It's the team. Deecan is the first one to me and wraps me in his arms and holds me while I cry. I cry for dom who is in surgery and I don't know if he's gonna make it. I cry for my unborn baby I just lost. I cry to cry.
