Dominic Waters POV

There were reporters flooding the hospital wing, trying to get the smallest glance at Sloan. I stood guard outside her door, while her father was inside and her mother outside speaking with the doctor.

The door opened, King Anthony stepping out being met halfway by Queen Evangeline.

"He recommends Sloan to stay overnight, before discharging her." Evangeline told Anthony.

"Sloan's fine, wimpy, but fine." Anthony whispered to Evangeline.

Before either one of them had another chance to speak, one of the staff began a conversation with them. They spoke in quiet tones, talking about something referring to the courthouse fire and suspicions. I stood closer to them trying to make out what they were saying. The only words that were clearly said were: mission, suspects, acronym, and event.

Their conversation ended abruptly as they walked out of the hospital wing, leaving me with my thoughts.

The reporters followed Evangeline and Anthony out, suffocating them with questions and statements. The doctor left along with the nurses. The only way a nurse would come back, was if Sloan or I called for them.

I took a glance inside the room Sloan was in, she laid in the hospital bed, her dark brown hair fawned out on the pillow. Her eyes focused on the TV playing an interviewer outside of the palace, reporting on Sloan's overdose.

She turned her head now facing my direction, nodding me inside.

I studied the room quickly before making my way into her room, shutting the door quietly. Her eyes followed me inside, before returning back to screen shielding her face away from me, as if it was wrong to look at me. "You called," I breathed out ending the silence between us. Keeping her sight on the screen she simply replied, "We need to discuss the rebel situation." I kept my face straight hiding away the confusion in it, "There is nothing for us to be discussing about that."

She let out a breathy laugh, "It's ridiculous for you to think that." she said grinning. "I have a plan, that I am pitching to Black, once I am out of this bed." the TV now shutting off, making the noise to be heard is her voice. "We are going to need recruiters, and materials for it to work." Sloan turning now facing me anticipating my input. 'You are a princess Sloan, this is not part of your worries.' Is what I planned on saying, but if anything it would encourage Sloan to force this plan into action, rather than shutting it down. I have spent enough hours around her, I have watched her fire kind of personality enough to know that.

"Your father has already set a plan into motion. He is working on stopping this and has said it himself, that it would all end in a matter of days."

"You are choosing to believe my father's words, when deep down you know his team has made zero movements on the situation."

She was right, at this point if it had been improved, and fixed, the precautions being taken lately would be dropped. Everything would be taken more lightly and the extra security would be laid off. "What were you thinking of." before she had a chance to answer the door behind me opened. "Officer Waters, you should be standing guard outside." I turned to see King Anthony standing beside a nurse, "Right-"

"I asked him to come in. I had questions regarding security." Sloan cut in, keeping a convincing tone in her voice. King Anthony gestured me out the door keeping his sight on Sloan. I walked out the doors, getting back into my position.

Sloan was released with the condition that her treatments were monitored, and her to have daily check-ins. We walked side-by-side all the way out of the hospital wing, entering the main building not a word spoken between us. She led me up the stairs turning the opposite way of the suites. In a swift motion she took my hand, pushing me into a storage closet locking the door behind her. She turned now facing me, as she turned on the light, her body now inches away from mine, as shelves behind me pressed against my back.
