As the week zooms by, Roland continues searching for evidence of Andrew's illegal actions. Ingrid practices combat moves and her aim with her crossbow every day at the park, sometimes bringing me with her to watch. She says I can't train until my ribs are healed enough. She's been changing their bandages every day like she said she would, always with those gentle hands I didn't think she could have, and making me ice them in the mornings and evenings. She also went with me to the pharmacy to pick up naproxen, and that's made a huge difference.

I end up visiting the library more to research politics and history. One day, I search up the candidates running for district 1's Official position. I don't look up the twelve running for the other districts, but I figure it'll be good to get some background information on Andrew, Daemon Revera, and Katrina Ford.

I don't see the figure in black clothing again.

Maybe I really did imagine it. Maybe stress from seeing Andrew for the first time in a long time is making me see things that aren't there.

I have no idea. But I'm still thankful the figure doesn't show up again.

Thankfully too, the Mystery of the Unidentified Green Glob that Roland found is solved, as Steven explained it was from work. Supposedly, the factories are trying to create an easier-made set of vendor meals and he had been asked to sample one. I hated to burst his bubble, but I promised him no one was going to voluntarily eat something that looks like it escaped from an alien novel. He was all too quick to agree.

As for our game plan, I'm getting nowhere at figuring out our next move. Every idea that comes to me is either too small or too impossible. We don't have much time, and I'm struggling because somehow I know Andrew will do something terrible if he gets voted in.

I don't know what he'll do, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out there's a deeper reason he wants it, and it's not only for the title, not only so he can boss around those working under him.

It's for the power and what he can do with it.
