Imagine a miniature cake version of a favorite carnival favorite, so easy to make too! The cinnamon cake, with lush apple chunks nestled inside, and topped with warm, gooey caramel
Ingredients:
1 box Betty Crocker's Spice Cake mix
1 can of apple pie filling
3 eggs
3 tablespoons of sugar (just plain sugar!)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional I guess)
Store-bought caramel sauce
Popsicle Sticks (for decorating-highly recommended)
Directions:
1.) Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line your cupcake pan with whatever pattern liners you want. In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, eggs, and the apple pie filling until you get this thick batter. Fill each cup halfway with the batter.
2.) Bake the cupcakes until when you poke a cake tester in each one, it comes out clean. (chopstick, fork, etc.)
3.) Once the cupcakes are fully baked, remove them from the pan immediately and set them out to cool completely.
4.) Once they are cooled completely, spread caramel sauce thickly on each cupcake. Stick a popsicle stick in the middle of each one.
(If you're serving the cupcakes later, spread on the caramel right before you serve them)
