The small five-year-old followed the sounds of screeching shoes toward a gym. Trying to stand on her tippy toes, the girl could barely see through the window. With a huff, she leaned against the door frame and looked at the snake in his container.
"Um, are you okay?" A tall man with long brown hair asked, seeing the girl crouched on the ground. Monti stared at him for a while before screaming.
"Oh-! Wait, it's okay, it's okay! I'm not going to hurt you!" He tried to explain, reaching out toward the girl, which only made her yell more. Yet, not a tear was seen in her brown eyes.
She got up and ran to the closest person near her, hiding behind a gray-haired mans legs.
The boy crouched down to her level, making her look at him. "Hey, hey, it's okay. He looks big and scary, huh?" The man said, making the girl nod.
"My names Suga, you must be the Miya twins little sister." He said with a soothing tone. The girl nodded again, letting him pick her up.
"This is Asahi, okay? He won't hurt you. Trust me." Suga muttered the last part, even though Asahi still heard. From Monti's small height, the guy looked like Bigfoot with a dark shadow. But, now being carried by Suga, she got to see his actual features.
"Woah cool! A snake!" She heard someone behind her shout. Sniper was being surrounded by a bunch of teenagers, and that made Monti outraged.
"Shoo! Shoo! Away from my Sniper!" She struggled to get out of Suga's hold, eventually being let down.
She ran between their legs and picked up the container. She could tell the snake was scared, making her upset.
"You made him sad! Say sorry." The girl said, looking at the group. There was a very tall blonde, who walked away. A tall green bean, who apologized to the girl and snake. Two bouncy small boys, one orange and the other brown and blonde. Finally, a bald-headed one who looked confused, but apologized either way.
The girl picked up her container, fixed her red jacket, and walked into the gym calmly. They shrugged, not thinking anything of it.
Monti walked into the gym, being met with many other tall and lanky people, one of which caught her interest quickly.
"Wow, they lost the kid already." A curly-black haired boy said, glancing at the kid from far away. She didn't look scared of concerned, just curious.
Monti looked at the sweaty teens, most of them didn't realize she was there, which was a good thing. The girl went to the bleachers, and set down the tank her snake was in. She emptied out her bookbag, putting the contents neatly next to the container, and looked at the snake.
"You stay there, Snipe. I'll be right back." She said, making the snake curl around a stick. Maybe it understood and maybe it didn't. She wasn't a magician. Atleast, that's what they all say.
"Let's see, how many volleyballs can I hide around here before someone notices?" The brown-haired girl asked herself, an evil glint in her eye.
That being said, the girl picked up a few stray balls and stuffed them in her bookbag. She took a couple at a time and rolled them under the bleachers. About twenty volleyballs in, they started getting curious. Then, she headed a shout.
"Where the hell did all the volleyballs go?!" An owl hooted, looking at the empty container.
"There was six here awhile ago, did we not have enough?" A tall black haired one asked. Monti watched as they began to search around, figuring they'd probably go to the supply closest.
That being said, she was already two steps ahead. The girl cleared out all the volleyballs, some were in the kitchen. There was no specific reason why she did this. In fact, if you asked her, she'd say it was because she was bored. The girl watched with slight interest as the group looked around for the volleyballs. They looked like little mouses scurrying for cheese. Except, they were human and the cheese was volleyballs.
Monti swung her bandaged legs as she sighed. This was getting boring, that being said a man appeared infront of her. He had black curly hair, that went down to his ears, and two moles on the right side of his forehead. The one thing that caught Monti's attention was his white mask. They didn't say anything, but Monti waved.
"You're the Miya twins' little sister, aren't you?" He muttered, still standing away from the girl. She smiled brightly.
"The one and only Monti Miya! And you're a human highlighter?" She said, looking at his brightly colored jumpsuit. The man narrowed his eyes, seeming glaring at the child.
"Kiyoomi Sakusa, you know your brothers are looking for you?" He said, glancing at the girl and her snake.
'𝘒𝘪𝘺𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘪, 𝘖𝘮𝘪, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘳.' She thought, not paying attention to what he was saying. Her eyes gleamed, a light bulb blew in her head. "Oh, Omi-omi! You're Rin-nii's friend! Hi!" She smiled brightly and jumped up quickly. Making Sakusa step back a little.
Sakusa sighed, watching the girl's brown eyes sparkle. For some reason, Monti took great interest in him. It was weird, considering she just met him. He stared at the girl as she stared back, holding the little bookbag, when he noticed the reptile in the container behind her.
"Is that your snake?" He asked, motioning to the big worm. Monti nodded, picking him up carefully.
"This is Sniper, he's a corn snake and very friendly." She said, as the orange snake flicked its tongue. Sakusa looked at the snake, he was okay with certain pets, and snakes happened to be one of them. But, he needed to get the kid back to her brothers. They were going insane without her.
"Well, grab Sniper and let's find your brothers." He said softly as she nodded.
"You know, I like you, Omi-omi! We're gonna be great friends." Monti said, putting the snake back in the container and taking her belongings.
"Don't call me Omi-omi." He mumbled, being reminded of the yelllow-haired setter. Glancing down at the child, he did see some similarities. They were both loud, mischievous, and took a liking to him.
"Yoomi, it is!" Monti smiled, walking beside the man. He sighed with a small smile. There was no stopping her, but he didn't mind.
Right after Sakusa closed the gym door, a bang was heard. Peaking through the window, he saw a cabinet full of volleyballs explode open and hit some people in the face. He then walked away with the five-year old following behind aimlessly.
It wasn't his problem, he didn't have to handle it. Glancing down at the child following behind, he shook his head with a small smile. This was going to be interesting week.
