Golden sun rays leaked beautifully onto thick red hair, making its hue look firey in the light. And as pretty and gorgeous as it was, it was also getting into his eyes.
The redhead threw the blankets off of him, a groan rumbling from his throat. He groggily rubbed his eyes, an attempt to get the sleep out of them.
Diluc's attention is immediately captured by the sight before him. There, sat his boyfriend in front of his cedar vanity. He could vaguely see his lover's face through the mirror, expression soft and relaxed.
He was memorized, as sappy as it sounded. He was never one for romantic gestures or flowery love language, but if he were to pretend he didn't find the sight lovely, he'd be lying.
His lover looked gorgeous under the sunlight, as one would think a God would. His dark blue hair looked like the deepest parts of the ocean during a sunrise, cerulean tips reminding him of the light cerulean tides.
He was combing the left side of his hair, carefully parting the strands in order to weave them into a braid pattern.
Diluc's trance was finally broken when the other spoke.
"Are you just going to stare, Master Diluc?" The bard teased with a giggle, his body twisting to look behind him. His and Diluc's gaze met, but only for a moment.
The bow user didn't wait for an answer, turning back around towards the mirror. He continued his meticulous work on his hair, humming to himself a pretty tune.
Venti heard the rustling of sheets behind him, and then light footsteps on the wooden flooring. He could see the reflection of the redhead approaching, his tired, early morning appearance was quite apparent. His eyes were still barely open, his hair an absolute rat's nest. The sight was something Venti barely got to see, as he normally woke up after his boyfriend.
Diluc went and stood behind his chair, large hands traveling to Venti's small shoulders. Venti barely reacted, still heavily focused on the task at hand. Red eyes weren't focused on the others face, instead, his attention was back onto him styling his hair.
An involuntary laugh came out of the archon, wrapping the end of the braid with a hair tie. He reaches for something on the vanity, grabbing the black comb and handing it to the other.
"Can you do the other side?"
Diluc didn't answer, the question catching him off guard. Ruby eyes stared at the comb.
"Ah– yes, of course." He replies, with an unsure tone. He quickly goes off to the side to grab a stool (and no, he didn't look akin to an excited puppy dog. That's absurd.)
He places the stool next to the archon, sitting down and snatching the comb from Venti's hand. Then, however, he stops. Diluc stares at the loose hair pieces, hands reaching out to feel his lover's soft hair between his fingers. He doesn't actually know how to braid hair, but he supposed it can't be that hard. He wields a greatsword, and is regarded as an excellent fighter, he refuses to be bested by hair braiding.
However, he's barely halfway done before he realizes that maybe great swordsmanship will not assist you in styling someone's hair.
"You're pretty bad at this, aren't you?" Venti teased, eyes focused on Diluc's hands and face in the mirror. The other – not shockingly – had a mostly blank expression. His attention was completely captured by his task at hand, and Venti isn't even sure if he heard him.
"Hm." The other answered with a non-committal hum. His fingers brushed through his lover's hair, intertwining threads of hair together, one over the other. The bard's locks felt delicate between his fingers, running tenderly through the strands.
