"H-Hey... That Hektor just..."

"He was done in by that other kid..."

"Just a single punch..."

The Adventurers inside the guildhouse continued their murmurs as the uproar intensified.

"I know where this is going..." Karmen-san smiled bitterly. "Yanzo-kun, can you drag Hektor-san's body away from here? We're still in the middle of something here."

She called out to a colleague named Yanzo who seem to be around the same age as her. He was currently working as a waiter for the dining Adventurers.

"Sure thing!" he replied.

Yanzo-san put the tray on an empty table and casually walked toward the unconscious Hektor.

*Bam*

Huh? He just kicked that guy into a corner. But it didn't really earn much of a reaction from others. Is that the norm here? That's fucking metal.

"I-Is that okay...?" Ace asked nervously.

"He'll be fine. Thugs like Hektor-san won't die from that!" Karmen-san dismissed Ace's concerns with a bright smile. "Though it would've been better if they did."

Shivers ran down our spines. Karmen-san is scary when she's pissed.

"Anyway, let's continue on, Zero-san. Please don't mind the clamor happening around you right now. Think of it as a compliment. I'm sure some parties are already scouting you out. Ace-san's result had spoken for itself. As for you, Zero-san, managing to knock out a Tyro-class Adventurer in one blow is enough proof of your strength."

"You're giving me too much credit. I just hit the right spot."

"My, how humble both of you are," she replied.

After Karmen-san engraved my name into the card, I put my hands on the orb and the same process ensued. Karmen-san almost fainted but Yanzo-san supported her.

"What a talented duo. Congratulations to the two of you!" The beaming Yanzo-san gave us a thumbs-up.

"W-What is this, Yanzo-kun...? This is ridiculous..."

"Well, their talents are very much unprecedented. I'm sure they'll become powerful Adventurers."

"Four E-ranked fields and one D-ranked field... An Average Status Point (ASP) of 2.2 once again... So the two of you just randomly showed up at the same time and day and are somehow both unreasonably talented?! What kind of coincidence is this?!"

"The orb's color didn't change when it appraised them, so it's not like their Mana Core developed before they turned sixteen," added Yanzo-san.

"No, no, that's even more ridiculous. We can't just have the second Grand Magus waltzing inside the guildhouse. I'd die of shock," she said.

"You're exaggerating, Karmen-san," I replied.

She turned to me with narrowed eyes.

"Is your common sense messed up, too, Zero-san? I don't think I'm exaggerating at all."

"W-Well..."

"Do you know who the most talented Adventurer is right now?" asked Yanzo-san.

"Ohh... I actually don't. Iris and I spent the last four years training, so we're not up to date with what's happening nowadays. Is it still the Witch of Calamity?"
