left it on your doorstep

Ranboo walked on the path in the gloomy evening, clutching the flowers tightly. He wanted to give Tommy alliums, just like the time they first met. He hadn't seen the blonde boy in a while, and thought it was the perfect ice breaker.

He rapped on the door, but nobody answered. He tried again, then went to the back of the house and tried looking through the windows. The house was devoid of life. He left the flowers on the door step and went to ask around.

He spent an hour searching, but no one seemed to know where Tommy was. With a sad sigh, Ranboo decided to give up and head home for the day.

_

The next day, and the day after that, and the one after that, Ranboo had gone to Tommy's each time. Each time, the house was still empty. At this point, Ranboo only came once a week. Tommy's place was overgrown, vines hanging over the windows, and the alliums had long since planted themselves, and were multiplying. Ranboo put off the weekly visits, and eventually, he gave up.

_

Tommy stumbled through the woods, lost, hurt, hungry and tired. He just wanted to go home. He glimpsed sunlight and ran through, seeing his house. There were flowers on his doorstep. He recognized them, he knew they were important but.....

Before he knew it, he was already fast asleep.

_

Ranboo took an early morning stroll, breathing in the crisp air. He was feeling hopeful. He decided to check on Tommy's house and to his surprise there he was, on the doorstep, sound asleep, Tommy, his best friend, bruised and battered, with torn clothing, but nonetheless, Tommy, sleeping with his head on the alliums.

Ranboo cried. He didn't know of what emotion, were they tears of joy? So happy to finally see the blonde, or ones of sadness, seeing the cuts and bruises, imagining how he had suffered.

He carried the boy to his own home, careful not to wake him, placing him in the bed and tucking him in, a fresh jar of alliums and a cup of water on the bedside table.

_

Tommy's eyes fluttered open. He looked around. He was in a room. He knew that it wasn't his own house, so what was his place? He tried to sit up and let out a groan as he felt all his injuries.

He saw a figure rushing towards him,  pulling him into a hug.

"I'm so glad you're okay Tommy, I missed you. We all did."

Not too long after, the warmth had lulled him to sleep.

_

Tommy woke up for the second time, and saw Ranboo beside him.

"Ranboo? Ranboo!" He pulled the tall man into a hug once more, and as soon as he pulled away, was bombarded with questions.

"Where were you, Tom? Are you alright? Have you broken anything?"

"I'm fine, just a few cuts and bruises. As for where I was..."

As Ranboo came back with bandages, he listened as Tommy explained.

"I was just taking a walk, and-and then someone grabbed me, and next thing I knew I woke up in a room, one window, high on the wall, barely any light. For the first couple of days I felt off, like I was on something. All I wanted to do was lay there ,no thoughts in my head. After a while though, I felt somewhat normal again, and there was food and water left for me each day. Not too much, but enough to keep me alive. One day, the door was left open and I escaped. But the room was in the middle of nowhere. I ran for ages, then stopped to rest. It was pure chance I found my house."

"Do you have any idea of who it was?"

"Nope. What's with the alliums in front of my house?"

"I, uh wanted to bring them as an ice breaker, like when we first met. But you didn't answer, so I left it on your doorstep."

"And you just let them grow? How am I supposed to enter my house now, bitch?"

"Let's go clean, then!"

Tommy and Ranboo spent the afternoon cleaning in the sunshine, first tidying up the alliums, clearing the ones on the path and leaving the ones on the side. Next they took down most of the vines that had grown on the outside of the house, and finally they dusted the inside, making it livable.

"Gosh, I'm tired, I'm gonna go back to sleep now." Tommy said as he flopped onto his newly cleaned bed.

"See you tomorrow Tommy!" Ranboo called as he walked out, closing the door.

_

"Go on ahead Ran! I'll be with you in a second!" Tommy called.

He gulped down the glass of water and grabbed the alliums out of the vase, and placed them on Ranboo's doorstep as he exited the house.

_

Ranboo returned home, and almost missed it, but there were indeed alliums on his doorstep.

He bent down and made little holes on the ground, then put the flowers in and patted them down.

As he closed the door, Ranboo smiled.

He bet his bushes would grow better than Tommy's.
