The rain poured down, pounding against the rooftop and smashing against the windows. The night was cool, chilly enough for an extra layer but still had a nice warmth left from the heat of the day. Spring was a confusing time, a beautiful sight with blooming flowers and trees getting their leaves back, animals starting the day bright and early following the patterns of the sun a lot easier than everyone else it seems.
The tv was loud enough to be heard but no one was paying attention to the show, not that anyone but Lillie was awake as everyone else had gone to sleep. She was deep in thought not paying much attention to anything until there was a loud knocking at the door, she snapped back to reality when it came again, this time sounding urgent. She stood, wondering to herself who would be knocking, especially this time of night but her questions were answered as she saw who it was as she opened the door.
"What do you want?" Lillie snapped a lot harsher than intended but nonetheless she had no idea why the small woman was standing there, she looked to have been crying, the woman's usual hazel eyes dull and red lines were present as she looked up sadly but had a hint of hope lingering in her eyes, "can I please come in? I know you're not my biggest fan but I need you" the woman, Kehlani, begged with more tears starting to form. Lillie stared at her wishing more than anything that the situation was different, things were so tense between them since Kehlani had gotten back with her ex, again. This time Lillie had been through enough harassment from the other woman especially since Kehlani never once said anything to stick up for her once friend. A short and mumbled "fine" slipped out of Lillie's mouth before she could stop it, as she stepped aside to let her in Kehlani's face lit up with what could only be described as pure shock and excitement before quickly disappearing as she remembered why she was there.

A/N: welcome! I haven't actually written anything in years so i'm sorry for it being so short but as I get more into it it'll get longer although, this probably won't be a long story.
