Heyo! It's the author, Cherri, here! I'll pass things over to my partner, MyztiChara, in a bit.
To start things off, I'd like to thank you for reading 'Miako: The Child of the Night'. 'Miako: This is the first story I've ever written, so I'm certain there are parts of the story that are rough around the edges, alongside a plethora of inconsistencies. I apologize for any grammatical errors that slipped through our editing — you can blame that on Chara for procrastinating till the very end of our deadline (don't tell him I said that though). This took a loooong two/three months to finally complete, so I truly, truly appreciate you for reading all the way to the end! But that's enough from me!
Heya. MyztiChara here.
I'm here to tell a funny story. The story starts from January this year, when a certain VTuber (PNGTuber, actually) declared that they would start a multi-VTuber lore project. A project that could, and would take almost a decade to complete. Sounds cool right?! Well... spoiler: that VTuber is an idiot. And that idiot is me. And so, with the confidence — and arrogance — of a thousand men (is that how the saying goes?), I actually started the project.
First up: writing a story about Mayo! Yay! ...Sorry, I meant Moe Mayumii! Now, you might be thinking, "Wait, didn't Cherri say this took two months?" Well... let's just say the 'planning' took 8 months. Yeah, let's say that.
Another question: "Who exactly is Moe Mayumii? Is she a VTuber?" The answer is yes! She's an awesome VTuber! Though, I do have to admit that her obsession with SCP is... uhh... something else. Oh, and before you start scouring the internet, her name isn't Moe Mayumii anymore — she changed to Moe Miako earlier this year.
And one final question you might be thinking to yourself, "How did you manage to take a whole 8 months to plan a 20000 word story?" Well, here's the short answer: I'm just too damn good — too damn good at procrastinating. Even writing the story took longer than it should have. To beat my procrastination, I had to set myself a powerful deadline. And that deadline: Moe Miako's birthday. I thought of it like a birthday present (which it is), and that gave me the willpower to finally fill that empty, white screen.
-------
To that end, I have a special message for Moe Miako (you can skip this section if you're not Moe):
I hope you had a happy birthday Moe!
Firstly, I hope you enjoyed reading through the story! I wasn't sure if I portrayed "Moe" properly, but here it is. I can label it as a spinoff story/fanfiction if required; I understand that you have your own version of Moe Miako's lore, and I don't want to misrepresent it.
Secondly, I hope life isn't being a jerk. If they are, you can always call the mod team over to f***'em up. Snazzy will lead the charge!!!
Lastly, remember to take your time deciding and preparing when you'll stream again — don't force expectations on yourself.
I wish you the best for the months to come. Ganbare~!-------
To conclude, I'd like to thank you, dear reader. This story, as unpolished as it is, thanks you for clicking and scrolling through it. Also, Cherri and I have plans to revise this story some time next year. We want to update the current scenes to create better flow, as well as add a few new scenes that help flesh out the story more effectively. Maybe there'll even be a new, better cover. Look forward to it!
That's all for now — see you in our next story! (Wait, why do you get so many words in the afterword, Chara?! I wrote 60% of the story!)
