A large stone, illuminating portal stood in front of a small figure. Its bright light only outlines their shadow."Must you go?" Spoke a voice somewhere in the darkness.
"... if I don't... who will?" Their shadow seemingly looks down. "I can't even remember...." They stopped speaking before finishing their sentence. Then they looked back over their shoulders behind them.
"You don't even know if there's anything left to save." Spoke the voice again. "Just stay here, with me... yeah?"
There was a pause. One that felt as if one's life was on the line. After the shadow contiplates on the offer, They finally speak.
"I'm sorry, but I have to leave you behind to save them. They are trapped, lost, and in need of help...." They paused and started to walk towards the portal. "I want to help bring them home."
"WAIT!!!" Shout out the voice desperately.
"So that they can run among the stars again..." they continued to walk forward as they spoke. Ignoring the cry to stop behind them.
"Please!!! Don't go!!!" The voice begs again but now starting to sound faint.
"We'll play together again but in order to do that..." the voice continues to yell but only sounds like a faint whisper now.
"S......! S.......!!!!"
"I'm sorry....it'll be lonely...but I have to be...." Their words seemed to drift further apart. "Reborn..."
