The Phone Call...

                                                    (Trigger Warning: Losing loved one.)

I'm next?!?! I screamed. "Mom!!" My mom ran up the stairs worried I was getting murdered. "I got the call...." I said shaking I started having a panic attack. She calmed me down with a warm cloth on my forehead. "It's ok honey I'm here for you." She says really calmly. 

  I start to calm down. "Why me?" I ask. My mom just rubbed my back. "Get some rest." She said like it was a command. So, I tried sleeping it didn't work out. I thought to myself. -I miss kai. Does he care that I'm about to die?!- What a coincidence. He called me. When I thought about him. Dang my life is like a book. 

I answered his call. He was panicking worried about me. Gosh 2 weeks and he's already obsessed with me. I'm joking. Maybe... Well anyways he wanted to come over, so I let him of course.

-15 minutes later-

He arrives and my mom ran to the door and opened it. "Ivy! Kai's here!" She yells from downstairs. So, I walk downstairs... "Mom can we talk quick?" I said shaking in my words. "Of course, honey!" She says confused but not at the same time. 

"Mom...That's not Kai." I spoke... "T-Then who's in the house?!" She said out of control. We walk out and asked "kai" to go for a walk. So, we did. We wanted to know what this mysterious man was up to. 

We walked to the park. Where I saw the body. "kai" started to chuckle. Me and my mom ran! I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my life. We weren't going back home so we went to the real Kai's house and stayed there. 

We got there and he was confused why we showed up. We were too tired to explain we blew an air mattress up and me and my mom were cramped in this full mattress together. It was fine I needed her to sleep anyway. I felt safe at Kai's house. It's like nothing ever happened.

-The Next Morning-

I slept in while others made breakfast. The smell of bacon woke me up. I got up and I didn't see mom. "Kai where's my mom?" I said, I heard the same chuckle of the fake "kai". 

"AHHHHHH" I screamed. My mom and Kai ran to me. I'm fine it was a dream. I ate breakfast and just chilled with Kai all day when my mom is at work. It was around 9pm and mom wasn't back yet. "Oh, she is calling me." I said, surprised. I picked up and said, "Mom! I almost thought you died!" I was laughing at myself saying that and the phone hung up.

What is happening? Me and Kai went to her work and said, "Have you've seen Ms. Jones?" We both said. "No, she hasn't been in work all day I assume she's sick." A random lady says. I was shocked. Maybe she went on a shopping spree like always? I ask myself. 

I got another call... from mom. So, I pick up and its "F". "Hello little girl, Your mom she's no longer here...no more running." He speaks while laughing. 

I lose it. I cry so hard, and Kai hugged me. "What's the point in life now..." I cry in his shoulder. I can't breathe. Kai hugs me tight and almost cries too. I always knew he had a soft spot for me.

Kai finally speaks, "Lets hunt him down." He speaks. I nod and we run out of the building.
