Every evening for the past week, Arlo and I have been training and sparring together, and I hate to admit it, but it's been kind of fun. I never thought I would enjoy spending time with Arlo out of all people, but whenever I'm around him, I catch myself smiling like an idiot. Something is seriously wrong with me.
I've also been spending a lot of time with Alessia. We've gone shopping a couple of times and we've also gone to local clubs for a few drinks. I instantly connected with her and it's like I've known her forever. I've made some of my best memories with her and she feels like a second sister. The thing that astounds me the most is the fact that Alessia and Arlo are related. They have completely opposite personalities that, quite frankly, astound me, but somehow they complement each other at the same time. I love their sibling like bond. It makes me miss Adessa more than anything, but Alessia said she would talk to Arlo for me
I'm walking down to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast, it's a bit late in the morning so I'm not expecting anyone to be here, but to my surprise the living room and kitchen are filled with men and women in all black. They are all holding a different weapon, ranging from large guns to smaller daggers. In the far back corner, on the plush white couches, Arlo is sitting with a few men. I recognise one of them as Dante, his right hand man. Alessia has told me endless stories of how he killed this guy or how he killed that guy. I tune out whenever she starts her rants about how hot he is. I can't lie, he is sculpted like a Greek god, but something about him just doesn't click with me.
Heading towards the pantry to make some waffles, Arlo heads towards me. I can see his eyes scan me from head to toe, he stops for a split second at my shorts then looks back up towards me.
"I will be out for the day as I have some business to take care of." His voice has a hint of something which I can't quite put my finger on. I respond with a swift "okay". Then continue to make the batter for my waffles. He stands watching me for a couple minutes then walks over towards Dante. Excitement flows through my veins at the thought of being able to explore some more of the house without anyone's presence looming over me. I am starting to warm up to the fact that I will have to live here, I am not exactly repulsed by the thought of Arlo anymore. He has shown me he doesn't just have a heart of stone.
By the time I have finished making my waffles, all of Arlo's soldiers and him have left the house. There is an eerie loneliness feeling as I am alone in this enormous ass house, but it is also comforting in a way. It reminds me of all the nights I spent by myself, locked in my room as a form of discipline by my father.
