Mistakes and Regrets

Chapter 2

"You're lucky I didn't just throw you in with the other two." Wordgirl remarked. Dr. Two-brains remained on the ground, silent "Anyways, you ok? I know you said your fine, but I don't believe it." Dr. Two-brains looked at her "Hopeless." Wordgirl looked at him again "Ok, I'm just going to leave you be until you feel a little bit better." Wordgirl carried Two-brains like a bride to the guest bedroom, complete with a bathroom and a kitchen as well. It was like a hotel room, though this didn't have any cheese in it she would be right on it with five pounds for Dr. Two-brains. A little while later she came back to check up on him only to see he never touched any of the cheese she brought for him, he was just on the bed with his eyes open not even blinking. Black circles too around the eyes darkening as the moments passed by. "Hey...you ok...? You haven't touched your cheese or moved. Plus you have dark circles around your eyes..." Wordgirl waved her hand in front of Dr. Two-brains as she asked that. "...yes I'm fine...nothing is wrong...nothing can ever be wrong..." he sighed silently. Wordgirl left again, not knowing how to deal with this. Dr. Two-brains is like a father figure to her in a way, but he is also her arch enemy. They have a complicated relationship that can't be mended if they tried. She went into her villain's toys room that had gadgets and stuff the the villains made to stop her, including Dr. Two-brains. As she walked down the hall of the room she saw stuff like Mousezilla, the giant ear and the cheese shooter that he made to impress the Butcher, Dr. Two-brains having a crush on him. She could almost see illu of Dr. Two-brains using these in real time to taunt her, she also saw Wordbot, this was made by Tobey to make Wordgirl jealous about Tobey having 'her' as a girlfriend. She saw the sleep-inator and thought of an idea, she went to the giant ear to listen in on Dr. Two-brains, He still was making no noises, nothing. She grabbed the Sleep-inator and pointed it in the giant ear and the activated it. Seconds before she activated it she realized the giant ear wasn't a portal and this was going to effect her and not put Dr. Two-brains to sleep. She quickly stopped it and went to Two-brain's room and used the ray on him putting him into a forced sleep. As he fell into his lab again, this time it was seconds after the transformation. He wasn't Steven anymore, though he didn't feel like himself, he felt sick inside, not cold sick, just sick. He saw blood on his hands all over his hands too, it was thick blood. As he made his way from the lab to the men's room the blood got thicker and thicker. Not any thicker than an inch at least, if it was any thicker he would probably cry. When he got into the bathroom he looked into the mirror, he now had light pink eyes with dark red irises. "Oh umm...how do I fix this...?" A voice came from no where "You can't. Your Dr. Two-brains now." He could also now hear and interac with the narrator because he was a little on the crazy side just like,Wordgirl, this was going to take awhile to get used too. As he washed off the blood he looked at his hands again just to check, then he looked in the mirror again. This time he noticed that he also now had whiskers like a mouse would have. "Awe man." He exited the bathroom and returned to his lab, he also had a feeling this was going to be permanent. He knew he couldn't work at his lab anymore knowing that if anyone found him like this, they would think he was a monster and he would be driven out of town. As he packed up his lab and office he saw a photo of him and Becky as he shed a tear he took the photo of his desk and threw it away not wanting to have any trace of him ever being here. After packing up his lab and office instead of returning the keys he drove around town in his car until he found an abandoned warehouse and set up there. It wasn't much yet besides a whiteboard and some used parts. The first thing he did after unpacking was holding tryouts for henchman being a request from his mouse brain. Two guys showed up, both on the heavier side they were also wearing matching green jumpsuits. "Hello Steven Boxlighter I'm Meatloaf and this is Charlie and we want to work for you." Dr. Two-brains looked at the empty line and "Yes fine you can work for me." Dr. Two-brains slapped his logo on the two men's jumpsuits as they both got really happy. "Now gentlemen, I believe we have some cheese to steal AHAHAHA!" The two men remained silent as Dr. Two-brains started drawing on a chalkboard while explaining his plan. "You guys understand?" They both nodded. Before anything else could happen Dr. Two-brains woke up only to realize that he is still in Wordgirl's guest room. "I just want to be back to normal..." he admitted. He finally touched his cheese, only a little though. As Wordgirl was fighting Chuck the Evil sandwich guy, Two-brains watched the fight from the crime cameras in the guest room "...woo go Chucky Baby..." he just wasn't in his element right now. When Wordgirl threw chuck in jail she came back into her base and realized it's time for her to come back, its later then even Violet would let her stay over. She went to Two-brain's room and opened the door "Hey, why don't you come home with me for the night..you can stay on the couch at my family's home. It's not like you don't know who I am already." She de-transformed and Dr. Two-brains followed her home. As Becky knocked on the door and Two-brains continued thinking about Steven Boxlighter. "Hey dad! Hey mom! Could Dr. Two-brains stay with us for the night?" Mrs. Botsford smiled "Of course Becky! Both of you come in! Take a seat!" As Dr. Two-brains took a seat, Mr. Botsford passed him a full bowl of mac and cheese. "Uh thank you Mrs. Botsford...!" TJ looked annoyed "As president of the andrdgirl fan club I say Dr. Two-brains is not allowed here!" Dr. Two-brains looked astonished and tried to stall "H-hey kid? Question How do you know my name?" TJ laughed "Better question Why aren't you with your henchmen or bring your can with you, mouse man?" Becky looked at TJ and Dr. Two-brains remained silent "TJ don't be rude to our guest!" Becky and Dr. Two-brains both sighed in relief "Fine." TJ spat out. Dr. Two-brains started eating the mac and cheese while everyone else started having friendly banter. "So Becky, how was your day?" Becky looked at Two-brains and back at her mom "Uhh Interesting to say the least..." Mrs. Botsford smiled "Well TJ we already know how your day was so, Dr. Two-brains how was your day?" Dr. Two-brains looked frantically at everyone "Not the best but, not the worst." He softly smiled at Becky. "My day revoled around a doll..." Two-brains admitted
