You've only been awake for a few minutes when Deacon begins to stir underneath you. He shifts, feeling the comforting weight of your body on top of his. With your head laid in his chest, you feel him tense up for a second before he blearily blinks his eyes open and glances down to see you.

He exhales deeply, rubbing your back gently and tightening the arm of his that he'd draped over your waist in his sleep.

"Go back to sleep, baby." You hum softly, soothing your hands up and down his sides as he stretches. "I'll still be here when you wake up."

His voice is rough with sleep as he speaks, the vibrations echoing in his chest and into your own. "You promise?"

"Promise." You nod as he leans his head down, and presses a soft kiss to the crown of your head. It's only a matter of minutes before his breathing evens out, and you look up to see him asleep once more.
