Eugene had drawn blood. C was sitting on the bed, rubbing her arm. It stung slightly, she could still feel it. But not as bad.
He was studying it under a microscope, jotting things down every once and a while. It's like he was writing a book on her. He then sat up suddenly, startling C.
"I GOT IT!"
He shouted, full of excitement. He suddenly stormed out of the room, leaving her alone. There was a small notebook next to her. On the open page was written:
C. Walker with strangely high intelligence. Seeming to have retained her human side, she possesses qualities such as understanding human speech. C can barely speak. Only communicating in groans and various other noises. She appears to be a young teenager, around 15 years of age. She cannot write, and her ranges of motion are still in the works. Blood testing has been done for further studies.
She felt like some kind of experiment. Why was she this way? Why didn't the virus make her like the others? It all confused her. She wanted answers as much as the other people. She didn't remember her birthday, but the age seemed about right. She felt 15. Her stomach growled, making her frown. She hadn't eaten since the deer, from what she assumed. It was still morning. Almost mid day. Maybe when Eugene came back she'd see about food.
Well. That didn't matter, because soon the door opened. Heeled shoes clicked against the tile floor, alerting her. She looked up. A woman, mid 20s with a red long sleeve shirt, Jean's, boots and short brown hair walked in. She was holding a tray with something wrapped in paper towels. She seemed wary of C, keeping her distance
"Um, Rick told me to bring you some food. Figured you were hungry."
C nodded, trying to give the woman a small smile. The corner of her mouth twitched up, eh good enough. The woman set the tray down, her hands shaking. C was trying her best not to scare the woman. The woman gave her a slightly awkward smile before turning on her heels, starting to walk off pretty speedily. C frowned, everyone was avoiding her. She could see why, but it still hurt...
She unwrapped the food, it was a singular hamburger patty. huh, weird. But oh well. Next to it was a bottle of orange juice. She started eating the patty, devouring it in just a few bites. Opening the bottle (with some difficulty) she chugged it down, the taste slightly burning her throat. It helped her, even if just slightly.
Eugene then came back. With him was Rick and another woman, she had darker skin and long braids in her hair. C thought she was pretty. Rick was listening to Eugene rambling on, looking at him with an interested expression.
