Andrea Wilson-Hawthorne and How She Came To Be

Pt. 2

When Andrea woke up, she was excited about the day ahead of her. She could not wait to be adopted. Andrea already felt as if they had adopted her the day she met them, but now it's actually happening. She couldn't wait. "Andrea! Are you awake?" She heard Jonah yell. Andrea shouted back a yes and got out of bed. She got ready as fast as she could and rushed down the stairs of their 2 story house. It wasn't like her house when she was younger. This one was much smaller, as opposed to the mansion her father still lives in. Andrea didn't know how he could live in the house her mom had died in. "Slow down before you fall." Daniel said as he saw her running down the stairs and jumping over the last two steps.

She laughed and went to the kitchen table for her breakfast. She ate quicker than normal, and Daniel laughed. "Sweetie, we don't have to be there until noon. It's only 10 o'clock." He explained. "I guess I'm just excited." Andrea said sheepishly. Daniel laughed again, "Why don't you call Uncle Felix and see if he needs help at the shop? It's an easy way to waste two hours." He said, shrugging. Andrea nodded and went up to her room to grab her phone. "Hey Uncle Felix! I was wondering if you needed any help? I have two hours to waste." Andrea asked as soon as he answered the phone. He chuckled. "What's in two hours?" He questioned. "My dads didn't tell you. We're going to the courthouse so they can officially adopt me!" She explained, rather quickly. "That's amazing. I will be there in 5 minutes to pick you up. Be ready, in uniform this time." Felix said. Andrea could practically see her Uncle Felix shaking his head. She would always forget to wear her uniform, which was a pair of overalls with her Uncle's shop logo on them, and a white crop top covered in grease and oil stains. She lightly laughed as she hung up the call.

She went to her closet and grabbed her outfit, which sat on a single hanger, and put it on her bed. Andrea quickly put her hair in two French braids and put a white bandanna around her head. She got dressed as quickly as she could, seeing as Felix said he would be there in 5 minutes, and that was 5 minutes ago. She grabbed her bag, which held her wallet, phone charger, and phone. "Dre! Uncle Felix is in the driveway." Jonah yelled up the stairs to Andrea. She took one last look in the mirror and went downstairs to the front door. "We will pick you up at 11:30. That will give us plenty of time for you to change and for us to get there at 12." Jonah explained as he kissed her forehead and opened the door for her. "ANDREA! HURRY UP!" Felix yelled from the car. Andrea laughed and said "goodbye" to her dads, and got into the backseat of the car. "I still don't see why I can't sit upfront." Andrea pouted, crossing her arms. "It's safer in the backseat. If I were to get into an accident with you in the car, you'd be safer in the backseat." He explained. Andrea mouthed an "Oh" and stayed silent for the rest of the ride. Once they pulled into the shop, Andrea jumped out and went to the lockers to put her bag up. "Andrea! Nice to see you again." A little old man in the same overalls said. "Right back at you Pops." Andrea said. Pops was a 62-year-old man named Henry who worked at the shop. He worked for the previous owner, but Felix kept him when he bought the place. "Felix told us about you finally getting adopted. We're so happy for you." Pops told her. She smiled and went over to the car Felix was working on so she could help.

After about 45 minutes of working, they finished fixing the car, and Andrea noticed two boys around her age walking in. Andrea recognized the shorter one from the bakery yesterday. She waved to him. "Hello, how can I help you today?" She asked, walking up to the boys. "Felix said my car should be done, if it's not, we can come back later." The taller of the two said. "Let me check, name please." Andrea asked while looking at the logs. "James Rivers." Andrea smiled. "I actually just finished working on that car, my uncle will bring it right out." The boy from the bakery looked up from his phone. "Felix is your uncle?" He asked, surprised. Andrea nodded and noticed her uncle walking toward them. "I see you've met Andrea. I'll have your car out in a minute." He said walking back to the car. "Nice to see you again, do you happen to have any blueberry muffins from... Wait... your name is Andrea, and you work at a bakery called Andrea's, and you work with Felix. I'm guessing you're related to Jonah and Daniel?" The kid from the bakery said. "Jonah and Daniel are my dads, well they will officially be after they adopt me today, and about the bakery, they named it after me." She explained.
