The next morning Andrea woke up rather early, as she had to shower and be ready by the time James and Bradley came to pick her up, which would be in an hour. She had plenty of time but she just wanted to make sure she was ready. After her shower, she ate a quick breakfast, and then got dressed in a short-sleeved yellow dress and did her hair up into a messy ponytail. She looked in the mirror satisfied with her look, when her phone dinged. It was Bradley letting her know they were about to pull in. She took one last look, smoothed out her dress, grabbed her bag, and went downstairs just in time for the boys to knock on the door.
She greeted them with a smile as they exchanged niceties and walked to the car. Andrea had been to the mall plenty of times, but never with friends, as her only friends with her co-workers, and they were all well over 10 years older than her, but she was excited to finally have friends to go with. While in the car, the boys played whatever song Andrea had suggested with no complaints, as well as Bradley making her a personal playlist, which she appreciated a lot. The ride to the mall was a long one, but she was glad to have such fun people riding with her.
Once they made it to the mall, the boys instantly pulled her to a store she had never been in before. Mostly because it had clothes, she didn't need. Only going to work and back home, she didn't need nice clothes, not that she didn't have any. The boys instantly started picking outfits for her to try on as well as shoes. She only owns one pair, but she loves her Converse, even if they were breaking.
Andrea made her way to the changing rooms with a pile of clothes in tow, and thus began her fashion show. She was there for almost an hour trying on clothes. The hardest part being to decide which outfits to choose from. Eventually, she chose at least 12 items from the store before the boys pulled her into another, gaining another 7 outfits. By the time the trio was done, Andrea had spent close to $600. Her fathers had no problem with that, and considering Andrea used half of her money, she didn't feel as bad either. Once they were finished shopping, they hit the food court. The food court had an amazing pizza place Andrea loved, and the boys loved the burger place they had there. Andrea was having an amazing time, and so were the boys.
"This is awesome guys, I've never had real friends before, but I'm glad it was you two." Andrea told them. "We're glad you're a friend too." James said. "Speaking of being friends, any preferred nicknames?" Bradley laughed. Andrea nodded. "You have loads to choose from. Let's see, there's Dre, Drea, Cat, and Andie. I have no preference, as I've been called all of them." She explained. The boys thought for a second before speaking. "I like Cat." "Me too. But why is "Cat" a nickname?" James asked. Agreeing with Bradley. Andrea giggled. "My middle name is Catlyn, named after one of my ancestors or something." She laughed. The boys joined in, which made them laugh even harder.
Andrea was not used to waking up at 6 in the morning, but she would have to start if she wanted to get to school on time. It still felt so unreal to her; going to school, a real life school. After Andrea and the boys left the mall two days prior, James offered to pick her up for school, since he had to also pick Bradley up which Andrea then learned that Bradley's house was only a few miles from her own. Andrea politely declined, explaining that her fathers want to bring her on her first day. They understood and told her they would wait by the front door to show her around. She thanked them graciously by telling them she'd bring them blueberry muffins for lunch every few days starting Monday. Bradley quickly nodded his head, thanking her as James laughed.
After brushing her teeth and combing her hair, Andrea looked through her new outfits, even though she had originally planned to choose the night before, she was so tired that she fell asleep before she could. She threw a quick text to her new group chat with Bradley and James, asking which one to choose. James was no help, saying it didn't matter because she could pull them all off flawlessly, to which Bradley sent an eye roll emoji and told her the black skater skirt with the cropped maroon shirt so she'd "make an impression" on her first ever day of public school. She sent some emojis thanking Bradley and quickly got dressed.
"Dre honey, are you almost ready?" Daniel called up to her. She yelled back a yes and grabbed her book bag. Andrea looked in the mirror and smiled. She looked like she was going to school, and that made her smile grow bigger.
After taking almost a hundred photos, they finally got into the car, pulling out of the driveway to bring her to school. To say they were all ecstatic would be an understatement. Andrea kept texting her friends, telling them she was "20 minutes away, 15 minutes away, minutes away, 3 minutes away, pulling into the parking lot now, here." They told her they'd be by the front and that she couldn't miss them. Andrea said goodbye to her fathers' and they wished her luck as she got out of the car, making her way to the high school in front of her. She instantly saw James and Bradley, as well as a few other people around them. She instantly became nervous and slowed her pace to calm down before she reached them.
(Is 900 a lot of words? I feel like it isn't. Tell me if you want them longer or shorter please. I'm not very good at determining how long chapters should be.)
