Together with this frightening companion, we walked down a dimly lit path that, according to this woman, would lead us to Mili's boarding school.

At some point I couldn't stand this eerie silence any longer and stopped.
Almost at the same time I pulled Aunt Jul back by her sleeve.

"What's the matter dear?", she asked carefully.

"I..." I started and didn't know how to ask her the question without making a fool of myself.
Although that was never my style.
when I had questions, I asked them without thinking too much, no matter how crazy they sounded.

I must have misunderstood the woman.

"Mary?" Aunt Jule's voice reached me. This time her tone of voice didn't tolerate any arguments.
I looked into her eyes in embarrassment.
"I can see that you have something on your mind." She continued.

Yes i had.
Just how should I start?
just as I opened my mouth to reply, the woman cut me off, "If you don't want to run into any forest trolls here, I'd appreciate it if you followed me. "

Forest trolls?
So did these creatures really exist?
then the story about Harry Potter was not completely made up, but simply retold.
But that would mean that this Voldemort must have actually existed.
The only question is, when did he live?
and was it possible that he or a magician was behind the murders of the women?
Or was it my client?
But that would mean that my gut feeling would be wrong for the first time.

Stop it now!
I couldn't doubt now.
if this man really was innocent, then there had to be some way to prove it.

Okay, what did all victims have in common?
As far as I could remember, they all had a strange pattern engraved on the palm.
the police believed that the killer had burned it on after the death had occurred, as it was still very fresh after finding the respective women.
If you took a closer look at the pattern, you could see squiggly letters.
Maybe some kind of signature?
but to follow the trail further I need more clues.
But where should I start looking?

A clearing of my throat made me wince.

Angry at the person who frightened me so, my eyes wandered over to the strange woman.
I glared at her wildly.
she couldn't be disturbed and slowly looked me up and down.
Immediately my face blushed a little.

When I quickly looked around for Aunt Jul, the boarding school caught my eye.
Great. she had left me alone with this scarecrow without telling me anything.

So the strange woman could have told me in a normal way that we were there.
Just like people did.
Oh yeah, I forgot..she wasn't an ordinary person, she was a witch.
so she had to startle me twice in a row.

Speaking of scaring.
Mili once mentioned having a teacher who was always aware of everything and seemed to be everywhere.
What was her name again?
Hardbroom?
She was strict and adamant about punctuality and studying.
Anyone who messed with her was severely punished by her.

My eyes darted in her direction.
Was she the one my cousin was talking about?
Her intense gaze drew me like a magnet.
when I also felt a funny fluttering in my stomach, I tried with all my strength to tear myself away from her gaze.
But I couldn't.

The person opposite looked me in the eye one last time and disappeared with a snap into nowhere.

I stared after her in perplexity.

Seeing something like this live was something completely different than just imagining it in your head.

"Mary!" I heard Mili's voice in the distance.

I shook myself briefly and looked over to the entrance and saw my cousin.
A grin crept onto my lips.
"Mili!" I shouted happily and ran towards her to immediately take her in my arms.

Not knowing that someone was watching us.
