While the days went some what peacefully by all the notable families were out on this fine August day.

The Bridgertons were in attendance in full force and smiling and laughing in their high regards. Some of the ton were whispering behind their backs but there was nothing new about that.

Violet: I say what a lovely day? Is it not dear family?

The duchess and her son were in attendance and all the Bridgerton sons in smiling agreement.

Some spoke to them or nodded in passing.

Eloise: Well its seems we have escaped unscathed by Whistledown's latest scribbling.

Violet: Yes indeed. Nothing is to be had especially as the Featheringtons do seem rather in low attendance this morning.

Lady Danbury happened to be out about today and fell in step with Lady Violet. Good Morning Bridegertons...I say you did see the latest script from our sharped tongue Lady Whistledown.

Violet: Yes...too bad for the Featheringtons...it seems they always have a scandal to cover.

Lady Danbury was about to say something when Portia Featherton and her daughter Prudence happened to stop to wish them good morning.

Portia: Good morning good people! My the air is a little chilly for August, is it not?

Lady Danbury: yes quite! Tell me how are the Featheringtons faring today? Any word from Mr. Jack Featherington?

Portia: No and thank God for it! I am so overcome with shock for his abdominal behaviours.  WE were unawares of course! I must thank you Mr. Bridgerton for your support in that matter.

Lady Violet: I am sure. But then one always has a way of working things out in the end...would you not agree Lady Danbury? Smirking a little.

Along came Penelope in a purple dress  that made her skin shine and her eyes seemed to sparkle. It form fitted her with a white and yellow rose bud adorned her hair in simple beauty. Her eyes seemed to have a sharpness that they lacked before.

Penelope: Good morning mamma! Sister. Ah to your you Lady Danbury. and The Bridegertons of course. AS you were saying Lady Bridgeton...Right you are: "the Truth shall out!"  But then one has to wonder about Good manners which I find sorely lack this day and age. Thankfully none present here have had the misfortune of ever making a mistake, have they Lady Bridegerton?

Penelope: I find myself thinking about dear old Cousin Jacks and his Glass Rubies...all beauty on the outside but fake and empty within. I say I read a rather droll joke too something about glass houses and stones....I seem to have forgotten! Her intention though joyfully put was cleverly not lost on Violet!

Vioet looked pointed at Penelope and saw a confidence that she had never noted there before. The look Penelope had almost dared her to contradict her! especially as the behaviours of her own family having a rushed marriage, a batched wedding proposal and the words of a so called gentleman.

Colin and the family were in aww at the stand off and Lady Danbury watched in humorous anticipation to see how Lady Bridgerton would respond.

Violet: Right you are Miss. Featherington. WE all of us, should learn from our mistakes. That is what makes us human.

Penelope nodded thoughtfully. Good day to you all.  And I must say I for one look forward to Lady Whistledowns next sheet. A more laughable time is not to be had?  With that Penelope kissed her mamma upon the cheek and walked away without a second glance to the others at all.
