10:47am Waking up alone, I feel the sheets are still warm beside me. He must have gotten up early for once.
Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I slowly pad downstairs to the kitchen, smelling the waffles cooking before I even enter. Quickly checking nobody else is in the room, I wrap my arms around his waist from behind. "Good morning Nicolas", I whisper into his ear as I press soft kisses against his jawline.
"You're up suspiciously early today, any special occasion?" He spins on me, smirking devilishly, "Oh? You mean you don't remember what today is? I see our anniversary is so very important to you" I roll my eyes at him. "Babe I thought we agreed we didn't do those, that's so not fair" I whined. "I know I know i'm just messing" he chuckles, "I couldn't get back to sleep, noticed that today was our six months and thought i'd seize the opportunity to do something nice for you while you slept".
I take a seat at the table, gazing up at him like he hung the moon and stars himself. "What did I do to deserve you hm?". Blush starts to creep up his neck, but footsteps entering the kitchen abruptly cut short whatever he would have said.
It's just Matt and Chris, but we still haven't told anyone about us. It's not like they don't have their suspicions, we're both out individually and it's not hard to conclude that we might be together, but for now they seem to buy whatever best friend narrative we sell them. We all eat together, chatting about how we slept and what work we have lined up for the day. It's Monday, so the boys are finishing up this week's vlog footage in time for Wednesday, and I listen intently to their plans as my leg grazes Nick's under the table. For now this is enough.
11:35am After helping Chris with the dishes, me and Nick steal away in his room for a moment before I leave. I can tell there's something on his mind, and I get the feeling it's the same thing on mine. "I'm getting kinda tired of hiding this" he sighs, gesturing between the two of us. "I like not having the whole internet involved in my love life, but I don't know if keeping us a secret from everyone is sustainable full time. I feel wrong about keeping Matt and Chris in the dark long term". "I totally agree, I've been kinda thinking about like, soft launching our relationship?" He nods along so I continue, "Like maybe vague posts that I have a boyfriend, photos of us where you can't see our faces stuff like that. Kinda like a trial run, test the waters of having a public relationship, tell our friends and family slowly, and then maybe in a few months if everything goes well we start being more open?"
He leans in, smiling into the kiss. "I love you Lu". "Is that a yes?" I tease, knowing the answer anyway.
