Talk to me Nice.

I have evolved into a ninja.

Disappearing into the shadows, never being seen and a complete bad ass. Utilizing my tiny size to become highly skilled in stealth.

Granted Leana says I'm just refusing to answer the phone and ducking in and out of my own home when I know Brandon is occupied. Except that one time I rolled out the back window since he was sitting directly in a place in the house where he would see me trying to make a break for it. She also said if I don't call her back, she will release the video I stupidly shared with her from our outdoor cameras.

It really does end up being you best friends that betray you.

The thing is, I don't want to talk to anyone because they are going to ask that stupid question. 'How is it going?'

No one knows, at least from me, about the day he stopped in my shop two weeks ago. To say when Brandon Nox decides to pull his big boy pants up and start his grovel, he really hits you in the feels. Like come the fuck on, that was unfair. I spent YEARS learning the little nuisances about him, just to find out the man is clearly capable of communicating just fine.

Outside of that, I am still pissed. I want to hold on to my anger and remain petty. I am entitled to it damn it. I'm not ready to forgive the man I spent years holding up because he broke my trust. He made me look like a damn fool; it doesn't matter if he was stupid to see it. It still happened. I still felt it, still feel it if I am honest with myself.

I think of the strength some women have to forgive and move forward, and I wonder how they did it. I mean the man didn't even stick his dick in the rodent's flea infested mouse trap and I still feel like a part of me is missing. Those are the days I give into my self-pity, then I quickly adjust my crown and remember who the fuck I am.

Rain mother fucking Nox.

So, that's how I find myself in a karaoke with Leana, after sneaking out of my house like a thief in the night to avoid Brandon. I came for the alcohol she came to make cover songs her bitch. Sitting at the bar I grab the bartender's attention and order my dink. It's a whiskey kind of night. Unfortunately, some party gremlin who must have been waiting to do the same doesn't appreciate that I got to order before her, she makes it known.

"I've been waiting forever and the only reason she got his attention was because she looks like a biker whore and everything about her says she's easy."

Lord, I like to believe I m a good person, why do you let your children try me like this. Turning to face the little loudmouth vermin, I make sure to lock in on eye contact. Making and obvious perusal of her, I let my overall disappointment show. With a slight smirk, I lean against the bar with my drink. I've only been here 15 minutes and I already had to threaten to sleep with someone's father, it should be a good night.

"Not only did I get his attention, but I can also get your fathers. So, talk to me nice." At her shocked look I saunter off to find Leana and Nova have got us a table. Sitting down, I look at Nova.

"So, spill the office tea."

"The trash panda has been released back into the wild of unemployment." Nova replies smirking, causing Leana to snort.

"Trash Panda, good one."

"Yes, to say my dad was not happy with her is an understatement. Seems Mr. Nox even filed a formal complaint."

"A little late for that don't you think?" I responded raising a perfectly arched eyebrow.

"Only you can decide that, but dad ripped her a new asshole so hopefully she closes the one on her face. I've never seen him loose it like that at the office before." She explains.

"I bet he gets hotter when he yells." Leana smirks.

"You do remember you are married to his son, right?" I tell her for the 87th time.

"Says who?" She shoots back.

"The state of Colorado." Both Nova and I respond. To that she just shrugs, like her own marriage license don't seem is minor inconvenience. I swear if I didn't know how much she loved my cousin, and how badly he hurt her I would question things. I see her eyes go to the stage. I mistakenly think she notices people going to sign up for the next song. Until she smirks, I can't explain it but nothing good can come from that look.

"Rain, why is your husband on stage?" She asks. I whip around to see Brandon approaching the mic. I quickly wonder how likely it would be I got arrested if I threw Leana's beer bottle at his head to stop him. Or just cause, I'm sure if I explained it well enough, they'd let me off with a warning.

Leaning into the mic, he breathes. "I'd like to dedicate this to my wife, Rain Nox."

What fresh fucking new hell is this?
