everyone hates that 7am alarm, so it was no surprise that the 8 boys that lived together were all collectively screaming at their alarms.

since they shared rooms, it only took one alarm to wake the rest of the boys up. yeosang, yunho, and jongho shared a room, as well as mingi, seonghwa, and san. hongjoong and wooyoung shared a room, but had their own beds due to winning rock paper scissors.

seonghwa's alarm was the first one to go off, as he liked to get up a bit earlier than the members so that he could have a bit of time to collect himself. mingi and yunho always stayed up late playing video games, so they were usually the last to wake up. yeosang normally woke up right after seonghwa, for the same reason. jongho, hongjoong, wooyoung and san always got up mostly when their alarms went off, but were grumbly.

yeosang always forced himself to get up as early as he could so that he could put on makeup, as his birthmark left room
for self conciousness and he'd rather cover it.

which led to yeosang quietly getting out of bed to beat everyone to the bathroom, grabbing his makeup bag on his way out. he applied his concealer quickly, covering up the splotchy red marks that stretched across the left side of his temple.

yeosang nodded in approval at his slightly better looking appearance and exited the bathroom, making his way to the kitchen to find a snack.

seonghwa was there, preparing lunches for the boys as he would normally do. he was seen as the mother figure, always looking out for the boys, especially when hongjoong wasn't around, or when he was little. which wasn't very often, as their busy schedule left virtually no free time for the group, so little joongie was always pushed to the side.

the rest of the members slowly stirred, all wandering into the kitchen like zombies to fuel their grumbling stomachs.

hongjoong entered and immediately went to slump against seonghwa, the older supporting his weight in a heartbeat as he smiled down at the boy.

" 'm so sleepy." hongjoong mumbled, but immediately shot his eyes open and shook his head, as if to wake himself up.

he didn't want anyone to know how close he had been to slipping lately. with a comeback right around the corner, and their packed schedules, his life was full of stress with no room for relaxing. relaxation that was vital to wind down from such a hectic few months, relaxation that he couldn't get.

hongjoong had been on the verge of slipping for the last week, but always caught himself before he could fully fall into the headspace. his members needed him as their leader, not as a toddler who plays with blocks.

so little joongie was pushed to the side once again.

"i'm so exhausted!" wooyoung groaned, collapsing onto his bed. san was right behind him, flopping onto the boy and emitting another groan from wooyoung as he held san's weight.

hongjoong entered his shared room with wooyoung and set his stuff down before flopping onto his bed, much like the younger had done seconds before. he exhaled slowly and closed his eyes as he laid spread eagle across his bed, feeling the exhaustion begin to overtake his body and mind.

they had started at 8am, and now it was just turning 9pm. they had only had small breaks between, never long enough to actually rest like intended. and they had another long schedule tomorrow, one of which hongjoong was not looking forward to.

with the faint sounds of wooyoung and san whispering, hongjoong fell into an exhausted sleep, not moving from where he had laid.
