Chapter 16: Will's POV

I had set out looking for Nico in all the places I could think of, but I couldn't find him anywhere.

I assumed he'd be hidden good, but I never thought he'd be hidden this good.

Nico had basically vanished off the face of the Earth, but that wouldn't stop me. I was going to find him, and I didn't care who got in my way.

I was going to find Nico, whether I had to burn the whole world down, or kill myself in the process.

All I knew in that moment was complete and utter determination. Dertermination to retrieve the love of my life, my one and only husband Nico.

I found myself circling back to Eric's house by the basement window. I noticed a light on in the basement and I heard faint yelling. Most of the words I heard were curse words, so I assumed it was Nico.

I broke the glass out of the window and simotaniously threw a rock at the upstairs window, creating a diversion. Then I climed in the window and jumped from the sill to the floor.

I padded silently through Eric's basement and whispered Nico's name. I finally heard a light sob from behind a locked door.

I picked the lock with some pins I got from Leo. Turns out, making little cars isn't the only thing pins are good for.

I found Nico sobbing in the corner of the room, his hair clinging to his forehead. He shook when he heard the door click open, then he lifted his head and began to sob louder.

I ran to him and picked him up, lifting him through the window first, then climbing up after him.

I picked him up bridal side and carried him back to our house, lending him my shoulder to cry on.

When we got inside I carried him up to our room and set him on the bed, covering him up with blankets. I climbed into bed next to him and cradled him in my arms.

I whispered, "Do you want to talk about it?" Nico whisped back, his voice cracking, "Not really." I rubbed his back, "Oh baby, it's okay. You don't have to talk about it. I won't make you, I promise."
