The wind whistled through the dark canopy above the group of messengers from Rowan, breaking the silence within the three travelers. The guards were becoming tired from the week long journey with the constant meetings and introductions, traveling with Silas had not been easy on them either. He was cold, quiet and intimidating, his presence was hard to be around especially when it was a long period of time. The guards often would speak quietly together, scared of disrupting the peace between them and the royal's right hand, conflict is the last thing they would want on the trip. They sun began to set as they emerged from the trees into a giant field, the landscape showcased the orange sky beautifully above the giant yellow castle that resided in the distance. They continued their travel forward towards the Kingdom Of Vandenberg, wary of the outcome of their presence. As they got closer, workers came into view outside of the city, constructing on various projects. It looked as if they were planning on expanding their city, something that shows off the surplus of security and money that the Kingdom has. The two Rowan guards glanced at each other knowingly, rolling their eyes at the pretentious behavior. Silas came to a halt as the two soldiers followed his lead.
"We do not know how the Kingdom Of Vandenberg will react to our unexpected arrival." Silas spoke out in a deep tone which took the entourage off guard. "Be on high alert throughout our visit. This Kingdom's attendance to the ball is important for Rowan so we must execute a pleasant visit." Before continuing his warning, Silas looks back and shoots daggers at both of the guards, making their blood go cold at the sudden stare. "And most importantly, do not insult the royal family." The two nodded their head in acknowledgement as their nerves kicked in. The three continued forward towards the Kingdom, passing workers as they ventured through the field, earning death glares from each individual that they passed. As they reached the bridge guarded by a group of men, it became painfully obvious that the Vandenberg soldiers knew where the trio came from. Whispers were shared loudly between them as they hurriedly stood at attention, raising their weapons as if preparing for a battle. Silas halted his horse once he got close enough to speak to the guards, he raised both his hands, ushering the two with him to follow suit in attempt to look innocent.
"The King of Rowan has an important message for the King of Vandenberg." The soldiers didn't budge at the statement, they remained at attention, ready for combat. Silas could see from their eyes that their decision would not waver yet he decided to try once more. "We do not bring harm to your Kingdom, we only wish to bring a message to your King." The guards remained stiff, as if Silas was talking to a wall. It was clear that they would not heed. The sun was almost completely set, the trio was tired from their journey and this was the last Kingdom and the most important Kingdom to invite to Thana's ball. The guards reluctance irritated the Rowan group, they just wanted to give the message and leave. Silas came to terms that the guards blocking them might need a small bit of "encouragement" to let them pass. He hated using magic in general, let alone outside of Rowan walls, but in this situation it was deemed necessary in order for them to complete the King's demand. The mage stared deep into the eyes of who he presumed to be the General, his red eyes flickered quickly, expelling his power slightly to the leader, the action was easily missed by others because of it's speed. Since the banishment of magic, those who possess other worldly powers have become weaker as it is hard to openly practice their ways without being caught. Silas was lucky to have found Rowan, they allowed him to practice safely and quietly, remaining unnoticed by others, resulting in him becoming a very powerful being. The heat from his eyes pierced into the General, resulting in the Vandenberg guard to lower his weapon. "Stand down." He ordered the group, they lowered the weapons absently, as if someone was controlling them. They agreed without hesitation or suspicion due to the release of power from Silas. "I will lead you to his Highness but your entourage is required to stay outside of the city limits." Silas nodded politely, grateful that his trick went unnoticed. He turned to the two guards behind him to see that they weren't even paying attention to the situation, he cleared his throat loudly. "Stay here, I'll be back. Don't do anything stupid." He warned heavily before he dismounted his horse and turned towards his new guide, leaving his protection behind.
