Run
The breeze whipped past her ears as her feet ran with a speed only capable with desperation and excitement while birds sang a soft song in the bright blue sky above, shielded by the dense forest. Her footsteps imprinted the lush greenery underneath her, replacing the prior path she had made that was slowly reverting to it's previous state. Thumps of heavy footsteps were right at her heel as she ran, for most, this would create a sense of fear but for any citizen of Rowan, it instilled comfort and security. The beasts pounding down on the ground with their heavy paws growled and huffed with each stride, slowly getting tired but determined to finish the journey.
Keep Running
She kept running, ignoring the pain in her legs and the sweat dripping down her brow, she needed to keep running. The sun began to set while amber flooded the sky, dimming the previous blue atmosphere, darkening the earth around them as the 7th hour slowly crept upon them. She had to hurry.
Run Faster
Missing the Night of The Seven's was not an option for the adventurous woman, she could not afford to skip out this year, she needed it. The 7th hour on the 7th day of the 7th month was engraved in her brain for 365 days a year, it filled her thoughts, appeared in her dreams, the thought of that night consumed her entire being, it was her drug. Excitement flowed through her as she got closer, the wolves behind her slowly came to a halt, refusing to go any further, sensing the danger of the area ahead of them. They whined as the fearless girl continue to race forward, ignoring every sign that warned of the consequences of proceeding. The smell of lavender and honey filled the air, indicating that she was close to her destination, a smile formed on her face as she deeply inhaled the intoxicating scent, buzzing with anticipation. Her aggressive sprint quickly became a delicate stride in hopes to stay hidden, being discovered in this area could mean death, it could result in punishment worse than death. Laughter erupted through the quiet greenery as the woman silently continued on her path, the commotion got louder with each step that she took, sounds of music and laughter coated the air in honey, matching the scent perfectly.
Delicately pushing branches out of the way, the explorer quickly realized how close they were as a glimmer of purple light flashed through a wall of leaves. She cautiously knelt down, leaning forward towards the dense shrubbery, grabbing a small leaf on the wall of green. Slowly, she pushed the leaf out of the way, creating a small viewpoint for her to peak through.
The minute her eyes landed on the scene in front of her, it was a reminder of her obsession. Seven beautiful beings danced around a giant bonfire, laughing and drinking as the smell of honey and lavender intensified. Vibrant colors flowed throughout the fire, illuminating the area in various hues as the inhuman creatures yelled out with excitement. The hues matched perfectly with each of the seven members, each one sporting a different color. The girl shifted her eyes to look closely at one of them the furthest away from the fire, the creature was chugging a bottle with it's head completely tilted back, messily spilling the liquid down its face as two others cheered it on. It's short spikey, orange hair stood out in the dim setting, illuminating its body. The creature looked almost human, but the woman knew that they were anything but human. The being put down the bottle and rose its hands in the air as it's two onlookers started clapping, cheering it on with it's drinking endeavors. One of the supporters sported pastel blue hair that fell just past it's waist while the other had brunette hair with a hint of green peaking out from the sides. On the other side of the fire, two were holding hands, jumping around childishly while singing a song horribly. One flipped their head around wildly, flashing their golden locks as the other jumped around, making their red hair bounce with each jump. She shifted her eyes to the last members of the seven and immediately felt a pit in her stomach, they sat on the dewy grass talking quietly to each other in an unsettling demeanor. They were both slumped over, ignoring the scene around them, as if lost in their own world. One was picking at the grass beside them, it's face was hidden behind a curtain of black hair while the other one was laying on its side with it's head on the other's lap, silently watching the fingers pick at the greenery.
