Layla and I were heading towards her house after the school was going to be closed down for a while. With the fears that a killer was on the loose we had no choice but to leave.
But Layla using the excuse that I was her girlfriend wanted me to move in with her. To me this was too fast of a relationship. But then again we did live in the dorms together, so I guessed it wouldn't be any different.
Also her home was only a few miles from the campus which would've saved me money from going all the way home. But I still felt guilty.
"Are you sure this is a good idea? I fell like I'm using you." I was in the passenger seat and Layla drive with a big smile on her face.
Briefly looking at me she smirked. "Hahaha! And what's wrong with that. I'm your girlfriend. I want you to do exactly that."
"But that's wrong! You would do all this stuff for me yet I have nothing to give in return." I say looking down.
"The only thing I want from you is your unconditional love."
Raising an eyebrow at her I looked at her like she was crazy. "Love is to strong of a word for us right now. We just started dating."
"But what happened a few hours ago? It sure did seem like love to me. Didn't you moan my name." Giving a teasingly look at me she licks her lips causing me to think about the kiss we had earlier.
Looking away I cover my face trying to hide the blush forming on my face. How could she talk about this so calmly.
"Th-that was my first kiss ok! You caught me by surprise!" I say trying to deny everything.
But Layla's only response to me was laughing. "Hahaha! Then I'm glad I was your first. Because I will be the last as well."
"You seem pretty confident that this relationship will work. But I told you already I don't know a thing about dating. What if something happens. I don't feel like dealing with a broken heart. That's why I never bothered with finding anyone." Fidgeting with my fingers I avoided eye contact with her.
I always feared that if I opened my heart to someone, they would have the possibility of destroying it. The amount of people throwing hateful eyes at me, bullying me, and using me was for their goals didn't really bother me. Yes it hurt. But it would never rival a person I love throwing me away like I was nothing. That's why I only focused my time on my studies and nothing else. But ever since Layla had appeared. She's been the only person I could rely on.
Just thinking of Layla doing something like that started to put me on the brink of tears. And she must have seen it because the car had completely stopped and her soothing voice called out for me.
"Autumn look at me."
When I didn't move or even respond a hand touched my cheek and lightly moved it towards her.
"Look at me Autumn." A cheerful smile adored face as she tightly grasped my hands. My hear leaped in my chest as I looked at her. Even though she was smiling I know she was worried about me. Just how much did she care about me.
"I told you as well Autumn. I won't leave you. I will be right beside you."
"But why me? You had all types of people flocking after you. They're more beautiful than me, stronger, and overall just better. Some of them are probably even stupid rich."
Layla let's out a loud scoff narrowing her eyes not at me but her intense stare caused me to jump a little. Seeing what she did her eyes quickly toned down before giving me a reassuring look.
"Sorry. But don't ever stoop yourself lower than those fools. They don't see what I see in you. You're simply beautiful in my eyes. A jewel hidden in a mountain of gold." She says causing me to smile a little.
