The Second

Truth is I know not what to say

It's a new warm day yet you bear a cold face

Seems like all joy is lost

And the world seems broken

From what it was.

I'm aware of the pain

That burdened your journey

But I beg of powers unknown to me

To give me just 5 minutes

And resurrect you from your sleep

And if it was all worth it,

Then maybe I'm a little dumb

To not understand what it meant

It's a world without you,

And either way it never made any sense

You've lived this short life now once

Your pain is now done

But I need you to tell me

What I could have done

Any differently, for you to see

I never meant any harsh words

I need you to believe

That life doesn't need to end like this

And not everything needs a fix.

Dreams faded and so did you

We grew up and so did you

But I guess I still have some growing to do

On how to continue without you

It is what it is, that's true

No matter where you are now,

I want you to know

It's all good.
