KILLUA was at a loss. He had emptied all of his makeup bags and sifted through each and every one of his drawers, yet he still couldn't find it. His heart was racing, and he could feel a bead of sweat running down his face.
He was tearing up his room for a tube of eyeliner.
Sure, he had more than one eyeliner, but this one wasn't just any eyeliner. His siblings had nicknamed it 'Eyeliner of the Heavens' because it seemed to always give him good luck. After all, he had scored his part-time job and found their cat, Assassin, on the street while wearing the Eyeliner of the Heavens.
Well, that, and the fact that the eyeliner was blue and would match his outfit. Killua was dressed in a white shirt, wide-leg blue jeans with slight fringe at the bottom, an oversized cream and blue varsity jacket, rolled-up white socks, and chunky white and blue sneakers his sibling Kalluto had customized for him on his birthday. He had also fluffed up his hair, which was slightly pale blue at the ends. He had dyed it a couple months back, but by now you could barley see it.
Pouting, he stepped across the hall to Kallutos room. Poking his head in, he asked, "Kaaaallutooo? Have you seen my eyeeeeliner?"
Kalluto, who was currently folding a lavender and mint green piece or origami paper, went paler than they already were. (As if that's possible)
"Oh! Ah, about that..." they trailed off, their face twisting in embarrassment. "I've seen you wear it a million times, and I thought it looked cool, so I may or may not have borrowed it? Please don't be mad, I'll ask next time!" They said quickly.
If they were expecting Killua to get mad, then they were way off. Killuas pout broke into a wide grin. "Aww, you idiot!" He said playfully, stepping into the room. "Why would I be mad? Anything that's mine is yours, I've told you that a million times! And besides, I'm glad you're trying something new."
Kalluto sighed in relief, then hurriedly handed Killua the eyeliner from off the shelf.
"Say," Killua said as he began to apply the product. "If you're thinking about getting into makeup, do you wanna come with me to work? It might me a little boring, but you can look around and hang out with me. Ooh, and we can go to the Boba shop next door as soon as my shift ends!"
"Seriously? Let me get changed, you can start heading down," Kalluto said as they dove headfirst into their closet.
Smiling, Killua headed downstairs. He made sure to send a message to Alluka and Nanika (who were at the mall) saying they were out in case they came home before himself and Kalluto did. Satisfied, he grabbed the keys and hopped into the car to wait for Kalluto.
Kalluto was out not ten seconds later. They were going for a schoolgirl kind of vibe with the outfit, apparently. They were wearing a black sweater-vest with pink accents on top of a white button-up shirt, and a matching pink and black plaid skirt. They had then topped off the outfit with pink knee-high socks, black Mary Janes, and a pink bow pinned to their chest.
"Look at you, ready to pull some bitches!"
"Shut up."
The ride was only five minutes, and before long they had arrived at Killuas part time job. He worked at a small makeup store that was rapidly gaining popularity on Instagram, called Gungi, that was run by a friendly couple, Komugi and Meruem. (who also always gave Killua chocolate)
As they parked and headed into the building, Killua started telling Kalluto about the inside. "So, in the back there's a gumball machine, but it also works if you slide, like, smushed wrappers inside, and there's a-"
"Killua, relax," Kalluto cut him off. "I'll figure everything out by myself, okay?"Killua huffed, "Fine, but I'll be in the front if you need anything."
