When I got back to my apartment, the police were already there waiting for me.

"What's going on?" I ask, coming closer, and looking at my front door wide open.

The closer I got, I saw inside the apartment looked clean, and nothing out of the ordinary, but when I step inside, I instantly notice that someone had obviously been in there, eating my stuff and wearing my clothes, the place was a mess.

"Mr. Beckett?" An officer confirms as I nod my head. "Your neighbors reported seeing two people coming and going from your apartment since late Friday."

"Can you please confirm if you've ever seen these two people before?"

I stop walking and go to look at their phone to see a CCTV of two people I don't recognize, but I notice they were both young girls, possibly teenagers that didn't look much older than me.

"I don't know them." I tell them, and start getting annoyed.

"How did they get inside the building? I choose this apartment for security reasons exactly, where was security when this happened?" I snap out.

The officer looked at me strangely. "What reason would that be?" Ignoring my frustration.

I look at him and sigh, does this guy not know who I am?

"I'm an actor, I've been hounded lately, it's nothing I'm not used to but I felt like it was better to be safe than... this." I huff out, hinting at my apartment.

"Jokes on me, huh."

What kind of people just break in and then decide to live there? "Have you found them yet?" I ask, looking around my apartment.

"Apologies Mr. Beckett, and no, but we've got a few leads." The officer says, turning his phone off and then raising his head to look at me.

"Until we find them, is there anyone you can stay with? Family or friends? It's probably best to stay somewhere for a few days just encase they come back."

I rub my face tiredly and think.

Robbie has a girlfriend now... Clara, I couldn't impose in their life with my bullshit, not when things are going well between them, and my mother... well, that's a big fucking no.

Shit, do I really have no one to count on during times like this? Am I that alone?

"I'll get a hotel, I'd rather not risk putting any of them in danger."

The officer nods. "We can leave an officer with you outside your hotel for the next few days." He tells me and I tiredly nod my head. "First we just need a little info from you then you're free to go."

Jesus Christ, this can't be happening, arriving here had been a nightmare itself, to slip past reporters had been another hell... Robbie was right, this had made the news.

Is that why Donovan contacted me? Was he worried about me?

I have yet to text him back and to be honest, I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not, I'm physically and emotionally drained... from spending the past few months with no free time, to come home from my hometown on my dad's death anniversary.

Could I really manage to talk to him when I'm like this?

I give all the details the police asked for and then left the apartment outside the private back exit to get to my car, the whole way I looked up which hotel to go to, as my new agent tried calling me.

I drive out of the parking lot and start ringing Adrian, my agent.

The call goes through.

"Evan- thank god." He breathed out heavily. "Are you okay?" He asked, making me sigh.
