Wally P.O.V.
Even after a couple weeks from new years kiss, I could still feel her tingling lips on mine. Remember the feeling of holding her in my arms. Relax at the touch of her arms resting around my neck. Knowing she was safe and with me.
That, was a few weeks ago. But much hasn't changed since then. Artemis and I, well, we just, forgot about that kiss. I don't even know what came over me then. I just felt the need to kiss her, to make sure she was there, real. That kiss probably didn't mean anything to her.
It may have meant something to me, but not her. She still calls me 'Baywatch' and 'Kid Idiot'. I mean, I'm fine with it, but I'm just a little sad that she doesn't put any love behind those words. They're not special words for a special person. They're just random nicknames for a random person.
I wake to the feel of someone slapping my head. "Wake up, Baywatch," Artemis shouted with her tough attitude, even if it was tough attitude, her voice was beautiful.
I blink my eyes open and see her silver eyes staring into mine. I look at her, she's in her civilian clothing, and she looks very hot.
"Ow!" I respond, rubbing my head. I sit up and hold on to the blanket like a three year old. "Leave me alone! I want to sleep, plus, it's warm under my blanket," I lie. I'm just kind of only wearing my underwear.
"You're such a baby!" She rolls her eyes and pulls off my blanket, only to blush at the sight of my bare chest. She turns away, her eyes wide and her blond hair whipping behind her and walks out of my room without a word. Great job Wall-man! You just pissed off the love of your life!
I get changed and out the door to the kitchen where M'gann is making breakfast. "Hi, Wally!" She says I pass by.
I see Artemis sitting on the couch, reading a book. Robin is sitting at the table, talking to Zatanna. "Hey, beautiful!" I reply to M'gann cheerfully.
"I made cookies!" She said with a signature smile.
"Great!" I say, peeking at Artemis, when Conner walks in.
"Conner!" M'gann shouts. I pretend to be jealous while watching a smirking Artemis. I see M'gann hug Conner.
"Hey," is all Conner says. "So, I'm gonna, train with Kaldur,"
"Oh, " M'gann says quietly, a little disappointed.
"But," Conner says quickly after hearing her disappointed voice, "I will come back when I'm, done!"
"Okay!" Says M'gann happily.
"So, Sugar," I say, "want to go see the stars tonight?"
"Sorry, Wally," she says looking down, "I have already have a date tonight." At this, Artemis and Zatanna are at our side in an instant. Robin staring open-mouthed from Zatanna ditching their conversation.
"Oh my gosh! You have a date tonight and you didn't tell us!" The girls scream.
"Yeah," M'gann says slowly.
"What happened!?!" Conner and Kaldur come barging in. The girls and I stare at each other. "I believe we heard you scream," Kaldur explains.
"Oh, ha ha," Artemis says rubbing the back of her neck, "ummmm"
"Tegrof uoy draeh su maercs!" (Forget you heard us scream) Zatanna says, her hands raised. A blank look passes on to the boys faces and they stare at each other.
"Why are we here?" Kaldur asks Conner.
"No idea." Conner replies, shrugging. "Weren't we just training?"
"I believe so." Kaldur says. They turn and head back to the training room. I hold in a laugh until Conner and Kaldur leave and then I start laughing uncontrollably.
"Now, where were we?" Artemis turns to M'gann and smiles. "Set up a mind link for the three of us so that the boys can't hear." Artemis whispers.
I watch the look on their faces and try to find out what they're talking about. Artemis raises an eyebrow. I'm guessing she asked who it was. M'gann looks at the ground and rubs her arm, like she does when shes nervous. Artemis and Zatanna jump and squeal out loud in excitement. Suddenly they drag M'gann out the kitchen into the beta-tubes.
"Recognized, Artemis-B07. Zatanna Zatarra-B08. Miss Martian-B05. And the cave is suddenly plunged into an awkward silence. There are only the sounds of Kaldur and Conner training, the typical moans and groans. The 'oof's and 'thump's of someone falling to the ground.
Robin and I stare at each other. "So...." I start.
