"Yeah, Heidi is super hot," Steve rubbed his fingers against his chin. The wind brushed through his hair

"Sure." Nancy walked beside Steve on a sidewalk to Hawkins High school, she rolled her eyes. It was the fifth time that morning that he talked about his exes.

"But if I would take a risk for Heidi or the kids, I would choose the kids." Steve sighed, his facial expressions varied between exhaust and relief.

"And that's what you want to get off your chest to Heidi?" The girl sighed, glaring at him. He shyly nodded his head slightly.

"I mean no, no I love women — but my kids, they're my kids!" Steve looked like he'd been stabbed twenty five times. He lightly swayed to the left side of the sidewalk, his hand on his heart.

"They're not even your kids?" Nancy furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah but . . ." Steve sighed, closing his eyes while he swayed back to the right side of the sidewalk. He took his hand off of his chest.

"My brother is not your son!" Nancy sighed, rolling her eyes, leaving Steve in the dust.

He  watched as Nancy stormed off. He furrowed his eyebrows, slowing down his walking.

"Tough, buddy."

Steve spun around, gasping in embarrassment. Robin stood behind him, Vickie leaning on Robin. His face flushed red, he thought only Nancy had heard his confession.

"How did you hear that?" Steve peered around, his cheeks turning a maroon red. He furrowed his eyebrows while crossing his arms.

Robin smirked, shrugging her shoulders. "Guess I have good hearing." She rolled her eyes.

"You liar, I pointed it out!" Vickie laughed, nudging Robin a bit.

"Well — just don't tell anyone." Steve sighed, giving in to the mockery he had just made of himself.

"Yeah, yeah, alright." A sarcastic face came from Robin. She shrugged her shoulders once again.

The rest of the walk was embarrassing for Steve. He was either questioned or laughed at by Vickie.
