I am happy that I saw you for the last time, sahyung
Before Chung Myung finally, finally closed his eyes, his vision was filled with red. Red of the color of blood. Red of the bloody sea formed by the countless corpses. And... red of the Plum Blossoms. Chung Myung quietly look down at his sword, one of his arms missing, the other was tightly gripping the sword. His gaze went further, under his foot was the Heavenly Demon's head, it should be an admirable and honorable achievement to be the one to cut off the Heavenly Demon's head, but Chung Myung wasn't looking at it. Lush greenery, dirty ground, Even the sky was red with depressing gloominess. No, it was not red. The blood in his eyes was causing that. The sky was blue as usual as if it was indifferent to all the bloodshed.
Yes.
A dry chuckle came out of his mouth. It has always been that way.
"Haha... cough!"
"Cough cough!!"
Blood dripped down Chung Myung's mouth, chin, neck then to his uniform. The black uniform couldn't be any darker after staining with all the blood. Thus, the small amount of blood didn't make any difference.
Caw
Caw
He seemed to have heard the cawing of crows. Had they come for their food?
Chung Myung glanced to the side and saw a crow resting on one of his Sajaes's face with an eyeball in its' mouth, then, blood vessels dangling from its beak.
The countless corpses piled on top of each other to form a mountain. Blood streamed down from the injuries of one's body that took away their life. From the dark uniform, blood unnoticeably dripped, as the gravity, from top to bottom, to another, another and another body, finally to the ground, where it formed a pool of blood, making a splash-splash sound. On top of the mountain above the thousand mountains was the Heavenly Demon's body with his head missing.
Chung Myung's view shifted. His legs became wobbly. He forcefully stepped on the head of the Heavenly Demon to stabilize his balance again. Blood gushed out like a sudden waterfall from his legs. Despite feeling like his head was heating up and about to explode, trying to bring him unconsciousness, seducing him to finally give up, to where his Sahyung, sajaes, sajils, and Tang Bo are. Chung Myung opened his eyes wide even while feeling the sting of the blood mixed with sweat flowing into his eyes. He was clinging to his measly life.
He kicked the head of the Heavenly Demon like it isn't worth another look. Something others would have killed to give a shot, Chung Myung gave up without a thought, with no regrets.
He took a step.
Another step.
Another step.
"...sahyung"
He swallowed back the blood into his throat.
"Jangmun sahyung"
This time, more clearer.
"I told you not to give it your all"
It was just a sentence. But, it contained countless emotions.
"I... I told you"
No tears came out of his eyes.
"Not to..."
He stopped for a moment to breathe again.
"...give it your all"
Drip.
Drip.
He gritted his teeth hard enough, he was barely maintaining his consciousness right now.
"...in every task"
Blood dripped down from his clenched fist, he had let go of his sword.
Chung Myung's limp body fell to the ground.
"Hah..."
"Hahhhh...."
Chung Myung gasps, desperate for more oxygen to keep him alive for at least one more second. He wiggled and dragged his body. The pebbles, rocks, and rough ground caused more wounds on his body. But, he felt none of that.
He moved like a worm, his vision blurry, he could barely make out the outline of his deceased sahyung. In his eyes, everything except his sahyung disappeared.
It was still warm.
His sahyung's body was still warm.
But, it was quickly turning cold.
Chung Myung's small flicker of hope disappeared like an illusion.
Right, anyone with wounds like that couldn't possibly survive.
He let go of his unattainable hope.
Chung Myung finally closed his eyes.
He was too tired.
'I am happy that I saw you for the last time, sahyung'
Chung Myung's body rested on the sect leader of Mount Hua sect, his sahyung, he was hugging him like a child, just like when they were younger.
Slowly, just like his sahyung, Chung Myung's body turned cold. An unlikely innocent smile was last seen on his face.
Before the darkness truly took over his mind, Chung Myung seemed to have seen the mirages of his jangmun sahyung, sajaes and sajils, then, Tang Bo waiting for him.
Chung Myung froze.
He unconsciously took a step, then, another step, his steps became faster, and without any hesitation, he ran toward the warm embrace of his family.
He was no longer lonely.
