A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Well, not that long ago.

And it was in our galaxy, too.

There was an alien spacecraft.

Now, you might think that this spacecraft was part of something big and important. An intergalactic war? An enormous mothership? But, in fact, it was just an alien father and son out for an evening drive. Spacecrafts are, in fact, common in space.

As the father and son casually approached lightspeed (thank goodness the speed limit allowed for it!), the son remembered something. Checking his bag, he found a leftover egg that he had been saving for the past few days. But something was terribly, horribly wrong.

The egg was rotten!

Who knew that leaving something that spoils so easily in an uncooled bag would cause it to rot? Not the son, apparently. He quietly alerted his father, who responded with three words that would change the world forever.

"Just chuck it."

The son did as he was told, promptly hurling the egg out into the abyss. And there it stayed.

For years, the egg was just that: an egg. It floated around, occasionally moving from pieces of space junk that hit it. Sort of like one of those buoys you see in the ocean. Pretty unremarkable. But that all changed one day. Because one day, the egg started to... grow?

Only the egg itself grew at first. But soon, a body began budding. It grew and grew until fully formed. One day, it just opened its eyes, thought its first thought, and stayed there, floating in space.

This is Egg. He doesn't do much.

 He doesn't do much
