LOVE AFTER MARRIAGE

Chap.2

For alphas to maintain their position, Mating is important (majorly for hunter alpha) to maintain or upgrade their former position cause a mated alpha is stronger than an unmated alpha.- context to a scene in this chapter.
(Here mating is not sexual but just getting married and bonding and physical mating is intercourse)

Ruby and Lupin were worried about him. Sierra was also worried for her brother. She misses playing and talking with him as he is rarely home.
But they decided to give him the space that he requires to recover from that incident.

Five months after the incident,

Seth has become distant which worries ruby.
she decided to talk to him.....
After his usual shift of 8hrs; she called her son.

"Yes, Mom."

"Son, can you come home early today?"

"why? I have an extra shift today."

"I made something for you and I want you to be here to taste it"

He didn't reply for a moment thinking about what to do, but then replied with

"okay ill be there".

She smiled and ended the call. she knows her son is adamant but she also knew he wouldn't deny her request.

She told their main chef to leave for now and busied herself preparing dessert for her son.
she didn't lie when she said she made something for him. It's kind of a way to lure her son into agreeing. She knows this young alpha loves his mom's food.

She made one of his favorite desserts salted caramel chocolate fudge and left it to set in the refrigerator.
While doing so she was waiting for her son.

Just then the bell rang and one of their maids opened the door.
The maid welcomed him....and then his mom came towards him.
She smiled at him and welcomed him with a warm hug, he also hugged her getting comfort from his mom.
She sat him on the chair in the dining area and went to get him the dessert she made.

When she entered with his favorite dessert, he looked at his mother wide-eyed and smiled for the first time in these five months. She feeds him the first bite.
And she was pleased to see her son's reaction...

After some time,
She was waiting for him to finish the dessert. When he did she asked him “son, you don't have to keep it inside you. you can always talk to us.”
He looked at her and just smiled slightly before looking at his plate.
"so, that's why you called me early "
" yes, partially yes!"
" Mom, I just need time, I can't forget her this soon"
"That's fine son, but I need to talk to you about our decision for you. I agree you are disturbed right now....but you are turning 24 next month...and I've decided to get you engaged at the end of this year"
Seth looked at her mouth gaping
"what!? Mom, I'm not ready yet"
"then get ready son, it's a mutual decision of me and your dad. 24 is an apt age to get  married"
He was furious but he didn't say anything. Just left the dining area without replying.
She called him but he ignored her and went to his room.
He was angry and sad." How can they do this without asking me? I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED" he huffed in anger.

Next Month; 13TH SEPTEMBER
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SETH!!!"
Everyone cheered in unison. He smiled at them and went to hug his parents and sierra.
Sierra was happy that her brother is back with her and she bought him a gift from the money she saved.
"brother I got you a surprise. Wait I'll be back"
"Woah really!" he smiled at her excitement.
She came with two beautifully packed boxes and gave him the small box first.
He proceed to unwrap it, and it was a 'Bvlgari men in black' cologne. He looked at her impressed." how do you like it? It's mom and dad's gift but I choose it for you" she said proudly.
He looked at his parents, smiled, and said "thank you"
She then handed him her gift, "and here is my gift"
He quickly unwrapped it to see pair of shoes.
"Ohh, I wanted to buy one thanks a lot seri," he said gladly and hugged her.
"uhuh, there's more," she said.
He searches in the box and found a metal bracelet
He took it and watched it with a smile.
Sierra interrupted saying, "it's a survival bracelet"
He beamed at her and thanked her.
"I love it, the design is good too."
They further talked and celebrated his birthday, after so long they were talking and happy together until Lupin announced something.
"I want to say something. Seth, me and your mom want you to get married and I know a great omega for you...her family is good too. You should meet them as we have discussed this meet with them."
Seth was in disbelief. He looked at his mom, "what is this all of a sudden? I told you I don't want to get married. I'll not meet them"
"It's decided and you will meet them next week. I have given you enough space but you don't want to get out of it."Lupin said," Mating is important for you as an alpha. I'm sorry but u have to get married."
Seth remained silent because he knew mating is important for his position as commander in the hunting department but it was like betraying his dead lover.
His thoughts were interrupted by his father, "son, I know you are not ready but mating someone will help you either way"
Seth didn't say anything about it but just nodded half-heartedly.

On the meeting day:

Seth was still on the task assigned to him.
* At the house*
Everything was getting ready and everyone was waiting for Seth and the guests to arrive.
*After some time* the bell rang and one of the maids opened the bell to show the guests have arrives before Seth.
"Hi, Mrs moons, great to see you. And she must be your daughter" she smiled, "beautiful as expected"
Mrs moons smiled too "yes she's my daughter, Leia."

Ruby welcomed them into the living room. Then she told the maids to serve them snacks.
"Seth will be here in a few minutes"
Ruby went into the kitchen to call Seth.
He's not picking up his phone.
Just when. She was about to call again the bell rang.
And Seth showed up sweaty. Guess he hurried here. Ruby then sighed in relief.
Ruby came into the living room to introduce them.
"This is my son, Seth" she smiled and proceed to introduce the guests to him.
"This is Mrs.moons and she is Leia moons her daughter."
Seth bowed to them in respect. Even though he didn't agree to this, he is responsible enough to not misbehave.
Ruby asked him to wash up and come down quickly.

Seth's POV:
After they left our house, mom started asking me questions if I liked her or not. What do I think about her?
I didn't want to answer those questions so I just nod my head.
"don't just nod your head, tell me what you think about her?" she interrupted.
"I said it's fine. Anyways you'll get me mated so do whatever you please."
I said and left the room to be alone in my room.
I heard her sigh.
When I was in my room I didn't light up the lights it was just the moonlight coming from the balcony.
I went outside, to the balcony and was admiring the moon. I looked at the brightest star, "hey Liz, you know I'm getting engaged at the end of this year. I'm sorry... I don't want to but I have to...
to maintain my position." I closed my eyes and I felt the cool breeze caressing my face as if telling me it was ok and comforting me.
After some time I came inside to sleep.
