Mineola TX is a busy town, bustling downtowns and highways, trains that thunder through, the trains shake and quake the ground as it passes the depot. There are many more things out there then you would think.
In the streets are people, some of them walking with their families. There's so much going on around here but few care about it. Most are too caught up in what they're doing or what they have to do to even notice anything else. But a small part does care about it; that little part of her wishes desperately for a friend. Someone to make this place less lonely. That small part thinks if one person could just come into her life it would make everything easier. She knows nothing about the world outside her town. And now her life seems to be all she has. Well it's not entirely true…as she grew up in Quitman, a town not far away and it wasn't much, a few automotive places, grocery store and a few gas stations and eateries but nothing much, losing her grandparents was hard enough but after living in the Mineola apartments haven't been too shabby, but she lives with her mom there but something echoes out to her lately.....not the train horns of course but something strange, Harper wasn't an ordinary girl, she lived in a world people didn't care to notice, yes she's human but.....she senses spirits, no equipment, nothing.....including knowing that digimon exist, digimon are everywhere…..and sometimes those beings seem to be drawn to her like moths to a flame, but it doesn't bother her as she seems to be happy letting them know that she knows they're there......but one night a strange thing happens, the feeling of being watched looms over her, as usual by a digimon but this was different......outside her apartment window it lurks......spying on her, though it's not a threat she sleeps soundly at night but the times get more difficult, a push against her soul, pressing and pressing as if something wanted to be let in......then she keeps seeing a silhouette of a digimon.......Harper sleeps in her bed but she has a nightmare..it's not like any dream she's ever had. It feels more like reality, she feels trapped in a dark room, the light never reaches her and she can't move. It takes a while but the creature stops pressing, the dreams stop coming and soon she is once again calm….until she wakes up...
It' s a cold night.....the wind blows the trees across the street and howls through the streets, the lights from windows glow eerily, the shadows cast on the walls of buildings seem unnatural and the air is bitter...the sky above seems darker than usual, there is only a dull greyness, nothing to see...it' s a quiet night…..just like every other night....this one will go the way many others have....until morning……....if she survives that long. Harper suddenly gets these mental images........of a Digimon.......GulusGammamon..........it is a bidepal black and magenta Digimon a
ceratopsian
-like head, white eyes with black sclera, a grey face, and a tail. It has a small black horn as a nose, thunderbolt-shaped upper horns, and a yellow drill-like horn. The black and grey parts of its head are a separated by a purple border that forms an "X" under the drill-like horn, and it has magenta accents on the tips of its head crest. It has a thin torso with visible ribs, and a redbipyramid
al gem engraved on it. Its hands have three digits with red claws and its feet have four digits with golden claws. Its tail has a golden harpoon-like tip. It wears a blue cape tied around its neck with black belt with a metallic grey buckle. in the mental images it just holds a flame called Desdemona......blue flames of darkness........staring at her, it's head lowered.......a chill runs down Harper's spine.......there's something about the beast that haunts her......its aura is dark and evil, but somehow its gaze holds such compassion in it, it's voice soft yet powerful and commanding.....but this being if it exists.......doesn't know her.....does it?
Harper sits up in her bed and stares into the darkness, trying to figure out where these visions came from. They seemed so real and almost tangible.........but the image faded quickly and she shivers......she feels uneasy, there was a feeling of dread washing over her body. She got out of bed and looked outside her window. Sure enough a figure was hanging out her front window…..her bedroom was right next door! Her heart thuds in her chest, she grabs her flashlight that's on her dresser and slowly inches closer toward the window......she looks outside and......there's nothing.....only the dark night and the trees moving gently in the wind. No one was out there. She lets out a sigh of relief and walks back to her bed. She lays back down to sleep, but she can still sense someone watching her.
She tosses and turns, the nightmares plaguing her mind are growing stronger. in the nightmare he creature flies up into the air and turns its head to look at Harper.....the flash in its glowing pink eyes sends chills through her body. Then it opens its mouth and speaks.
"Come." it says as it shows its sharp, jagged teeth as it says that. Harper tries to call out to the being but all she can hear are screams in her mind. A terrible pain pierces through her forehead, blinding her vision....and the next thing she knows she's waking up, gasping for breath. She clutches at her throbbing forehead and looks around frantically as sweat beads on her brow. She closes her eyes tightly, breathing deeply, trying to control her racing heart. After a few moments she calms down, her heart rate slowing, she finally opens her eyes and glances around. Everything seems peaceful.....it' s all a dream, it must be a dream…..no one can see me, no one can speak to me, I'm safe.....for now, anyway.
It wasn't really just a nightmare….more of a recurring nightmare, one that comes every night. It's not uncommon for her to awaken to that sight when she's having a bad day or in distress, she usually gets back to sleep after awhile but tonight it seems to be worse than usual, the pain and fear of it seems to be burning in her veins, making her body feel hot. This time it seems much more realistic than any of the ones she's had before. In fact, she thinks this might be the first time she's actually seen this particular type of ghost, this isn't really a normal haunting….the thing in her house is a Dark Digimon!
As the realization dawns upon her, the pounding headache returns full force. She shuts her eyes tightly and lies back down on the bed, hoping to return to sleep. Her eyelids are heavy as she drifts off to sleep.....
