"sky wake up! breakfast is ready!" sky heard her mother call from downstairs.
she groaned and opened her eyes.
still half asleep she pulled the blanket off off her and stood up.
once she walked down the stairs and reached the living room she saw her mother already eating, in front of her a bunch of baked goods that came fresh out the oven.

except that it wasn't like that.

"drriing, driing!" sky's alarm went off.
'great, it was just another dream' she thought.
the girl quickly switched off the 3 alarms she set and rubbed her eyes.

6:17 a.m. she read of her phone.
she looked out the window.
the sky was tinted grey and there was no doubt that it was gonna rain soon.

she walked downstairs only to find an empty living room.
she assumed that her mother had gone on a walk or something since she wasn't around much.

sky's relationship with her mother wasn't very good which is why she probably didn't mind not having her company.

today was the day that they were moving to LA.
sky wasn't looking forward to leaving her hometown Oklahoma, but she had to.

she had never lived in one permanent place since she was constantly moving cities.
but she felt at home here.
and she also didn't want to lose all of her friends.

sky looked around.
the house that has once felt like home was all empty.
there weren't any cozy chairs next to the fireplace anymore.
she remembered laughing and having gamenights with her friends here.

she couldn't help but to feel a lump in her throat thinking back at the memories.
but she quickly snapped out of her trance when she heard the door open.

"come on sky. we're leaving in 15."
her mother said, not even looking at her.
"alright, yeah I'll be there"
sky replied, sending her a quick glance.

she quickly got ready taking a quick shower and putting on a cozy outfit which consisted of black tennis shorts and an oversized dark green sweater.
she tied her wavy brown hair into two braids, quickly looked around the house in case she had forgotten anything and then walked out the door one last time.
