As Thorien the high elf stumbled through the mirkwood forest pixys, pond sprites, fairy's and elks danced through the forest and liht up the path .except the south west boarder where even the bravest of elves, not even Thorien would venture there. But one day Gelanderil Thorien's daughter slipped past the Palace guards and used her mother's ring to Forse the fairy's not to tell thorien or galadrial (her mother) about her adventures she always went to the same place, the sixteenth tree from the west gate of the Palace fence then a sharp turn to the north and to the pixy dens. But at the sixteenth tree this time she went southwest towards the border, after just 15 minutes all the pixys and pond sprites disappeared. It was dead silent the trees were burnt and the flowers were few. she heard ruffles in leaves that wearnt there spooked she ran down the footpath and triped over a root of a tree through the Bush and onto a scorched patch of leaves when she turned around, a blinding red light shon in her eyes she cleared her throat and shouted "light of elandril clear my eyes" and soon she saw a red dragon egg

She lifted the egg and spoke softly "ring of the 3 take me home" and immediately after a gold spark swarmed Gelanderil and transported her to mirkwood she ran to thorien and he grabbed the egg and through it in the firey forge and all of a sudden the egg started to crack and a dragon head poked itself through the egg shell and pushed the top off

When the dragon climbed from its egg and onto Gelanderil resting on her shoulder and thorien brought some food for the dragon, the dragon enthusiastically leaped of galandurils shoulder and ate all of it before she could say mirkwood. "I think you should name him" thorien said "What about smuag" galanduril replied "Smaug the elvish word for gready fitting" thorien joked"we should see. if he can fly yet" he added so they went to the mounting with smaug and held him out
