    3 Years later...

The solid earth chiseled beneath TidalWave's talons. Her claws began to get crusted with dirt, but she didn't mind. She was too busy concentrating on the image she was scribbling in the soil. Nothing else on the entire island seemed to matter, it was as if the world had paused just for her.

She smiled. In the dirt, a diagram of her new plan was scrawled out, just waiting to be created by her. It has to work this time. She had tried to complete this project multiple times, each time failing horribly. She had the scars to prove it. But she wouldn't give up, no matter what it took. TidalWave always thought that she would execute her aspiration, or die trying. This plan was the only thing that got her to wake up in the morning. She could even say that it is the only thing she has to live for; besides her sister, SeaStar, of course. Otherwise, she wasn't really close with anyone.

TidalWave began to hear familiar voices echoing through the trees surrounding her. Oh three moons, not again. She was so careful this time, and made sure to go on the opposite side of the island, away from the others. But it was too late, they were getting closer and there was nothing she could do. Two figures loomed between the trees, and they advanced towards her. TidalWave stood up, standing in front of her blueprint as a last effort to save it.

"Aww-Marine, look! It's Little Flightless, out here all alone," Sandbar said with a overdramatized sincere voice, like he was talking to a lost leopard cub.
Marine stepped even closer, and it took all of TidalWave's willpower not to shrink back.

"Is Little Flightless hiding something?" She hissed.

TidalWave didn't respond, she just looked up at her, refusing to break eye contact. Without warning, Sandbar pushed her to the side; she landed on the ground by a forceful shove. He pinned her on the ground, so she was unable to move.

"Ooooh. This is funny, Sandbar," Marine sneered, "Little Flightless drew herself a new wing!"

"Again, really? Hasn't she learned by now that she'll never fly?" He laughed.

TidalWave tried to stand up. She had to protect her diagram; she had spent much of her day working on it. But Sandbar's grip was too strong, so she was stuck flattened against the earth.

"Wouldn't it be awful if something happened to it?" She mocked.

"Oh, definitely! A true tragedy!" Sandbar replied. Marine took her talon and held it above the dirt.

"No!" TidalWave yelled, "Please, don't."

Marine smirked, her claws scraping against the earth. She kept clawing and clawing until TidalWave was sure that there was nothing left.

"Oops!"

They left, laughing about their victory. TidalWave finally stood up, and she ambled over to where her drawing was-or used to be. The claw marks that Marine had left were too devastating. It was unreadable.

Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. She didn't know if they were still watching her from someplace else, but she wasn't going to give them any more reasons to be joyful about her sorrow. She held back her tears, and tried to replace her depressing thoughts with pleasant ones.
I'll try again tomorrow, and perhaps I could even begin building the wing.
