I was out for a small flight when I noticed a small amount of red and pure white in a forest of green, so I went to investigate. As I got closer to the unnatural forest color, I realized that it was a bit of white highlights in red hair which was connected to a boy. The boy was sleeping on the ground, without a blanket or anything. I slowly approached since it was rare for anyone outside of fairies to be inside the fairy forest. The boy was unusual looking with weird, scaled clothes and spikes along his spine. "Um...hello? Mr. Weird Boy? Are you ok?" I asked as I gently landed on the ground beside the sleeping boy.

I was just beginning to worry that the boy was dead when he suddenly bolted upright, screaming, "No!"

I flinched away from him as I said, "Dude! You almost just gave me a heart attack! I was beginning to think you were dead."

The boy stared at me for a few seconds, to the point I was beginning to get uncomfortable before finally asking, "You're a fairy?"

"Last I checked, I was," I answered a little bit confused as I looked at my flame-colored wings that had hints of midnight blue streaks in them.

"So...that means this is the fairy kingdom?" the mystery boy questioned.

"Well...I mean it's called the fairy forest. As far as I know, it hasn't been called the fairy kingdom in eons almost...but I guess it's the same thing." I said still confused. He simply nodded before starting to walk away. "Hey! Where are you going? What were you doing sleeping on the ground? Who even are you?" I asked as I quickly followed him.

He looked over his shoulder as he answered, "I'm going to the Elf Kingdom. I was just sleeping, and shouldn't you tell someone your name before asking for theirs?"

"Oh...right. My name's Flame! Prince Flame of the Fairy Forest!" I answered, happily. "Also, you're heading toward the center of the fairy forest...the Elven Kingdom is that way," I added as I pointed toward the west.

He eyed me for a second before turning westward, continuing to walk as he simply said, "I'm Ice." He stopped as he seemed to contemplate something before adding, "Would you mind showing me to the Elf Kingdom?" I thought about it for a bit because on the one hand, I would love to go visit the Elven Kingdom but on the other, my father would be furious with me for leaving the forest. He's always telling me that it's dangerous outside of the forest.

"Alright," I answered, deciding that I wanted to see the outside world...besides it couldn't be that dangerous, right? Oh, how wrong I was.
