Part 16 The final piece before a new dawn

Before I start this. I have been playing Overwatch 2 with the boys and taking a backseat from writing because I had a couple of exams and the event "kutsunnat" we have in Finland where men who have or will turn 18 the same year go to get their legal command to join the military or the civilian service, so I will be steping into service in the military in 2024 in july. Sorry for not making part 16 sooner. Hope you like it.

After the meeting with the king and nobles of the Re-eztise kingdom Y/N went outside the strategy room. Outside the room the members of the blue roses, Climb and princes Renner were waiting for Y/N, they had left the room before Y/N.

Gagaran: Quite a speech. Did you write that down or just improvise?

Y/N: If I said I improvised would you belive me?

Climb: Yes.

Y/N: Then you trust me too much. I had this planed out to its full extent a week ago. The couple months of running an empire has made me respect thinking about things before just jumping in weapons first. Also the amount of clean up I had to do in Erantel after we occupied it was not fun. I don't know how the kingdom is still standing. There were more problems than I want to say.

Renner: I see, so you think that our government is weak as well.

Y/N: This is the entire reason why it was so easy to get an alliance going. With the council state this will not be as easy. You should really look into fixing this mess of a kingdom. Now that the alliance is signed you can ask for help from the empire. We will help if it's requested. 

Renner: Thank you for your offer, I will talk with father about this.

Y/N: Good.

Y/N then turns to look at the members of the blue roses. 

Y/N: I'm glad that you decided against suicide in the Katze plains.

Lakyus: We are adventurers so we do not take part in conflicts. I have to ask though, was it worth the sacrifice of 180 thousad people?

Y/N: When one steps to the field of battle, they must be ready for death at any momment. It is sad that the people had to die, but when they decided to heed the call to arms they became our enemies. 

Evileye: Most of them were just civilians drafted for war. They were promised money and land to fight agains humans, not a skeletal wizard who could kill tens of thousands with one spell.

Y/N: Then you should blame the leaders. We gave them a diplomatic option, but they decided that their pockets and honor were more important that their people's lives. Gazef told me that he had warned the king of my father, but the king didn't listen to his warning. 

Renner: So all this could have been avoided if my father would have just given the lands to you?

Y/N: That's how diplomacy works. We would have goten what we wanted and would not had a reason to go to war. Now that is past us and I hope that the empire can show the people of the Re-eztise kingdom that we are a reasonable nation and a good ally.

Remmer: I hope so as well.

Y/N: Now then I have to be going. I have to meet he dragon lords of the council state in two days. That will not be easy. 

Lakyus: Mind if we tag along?

Y/N: Why would you need to go to the council state?

Evileye: We have a friend there that we were going to visit and you are going there as well. We thought we would ask.
